My dad used to own the 190E Cosworth 2.3 16v. It was imported from UK.
Parts are not easy to get, he usually go to Tai Seng in waterloo street and they order it from Germany itself.
Still have some photos of it now. The car was a monster and thoroughly enjoyable on winding trunk roads in Malaysia...closest we got to some form of rally heh...till now my parents sing praises of it, the steering angle is wonderful...once my mum parallel parked into this lot which many others before couldn't get in...and a group of uncles sitting nearby were just shaking their heads laughing in disbelief...
We lost the car after it's engine conked out one day...it was time to go I guess...even through my dad's best efforts at maintaining the car(he went through his receipts and calculated he spent about another S$100K on maintenence and parts for the car, this was about 1994-2001)...the bodykit was starting to come off...screws popping out the sides...interior leather also would not stay on...it was very sad to see it 'aging' at that time...also we were still staying in a HDB estate and upgrading was not done yet...so no covered multistorey carpark and exposure to the sun...tree sap from old rain trees...
We just lost a W211 E320 about 2 weeks ago...its been written off by the insurance co. The tyre had an unusual puncture on the wall, so my dad stopped on the shoulder lane of the North South Highway. Warning sign and spare tyre was placed at the back of the car. Somehow..................................a Proton Iswara rammed into the car from behind................My mum whom was standing at the side said there was no other cars that the driver could have been avoiding on the inner and outer lane...somehow he just rammed into the W211 E320 on the shoulder lane without breaking...no brake/skid marks.
Luckily he hit the warning sign and the spare tyre which cause it to swerve outwards abit...missing my dad whom was squatting down changing the tyre...and "BANG!" like some cartoon...there was just blank space in front of him...the car had flew about 70 feet ahead and banged into a tree...
