huh? just don't use your left leg and you'll be fine. The left leg is only necessary for controlling the clutch.Originally posted by seventay:I just passed my class 3 test. Could anyone tell me briefly how to drive an auto? Thanks!
you sure you passed your test? driving an auto is a no brainer...Originally posted by seventay:I just passed my class 3 test. Could anyone tell me briefly how to drive an auto? Thanks!
Thanks so much to everyone esp. spidee!Originally posted by ^spidee^:For auto cars, use only one leg (usually the right).
To go: engage gear to Drive, gently step on accelerator to pick up speed, then accelerate more.
To stop: shift leg from accelerator to brake. As an auto car relies only on the brake to stop, unlike a manual car where you can lower the gears, brake earlier than you would in a manual car. Then shift to Neutral (optional).
To reverse: engage Rverse gear, car should start moving so need not accelerate alot.
It takes awhile to get used to driving an auto car if you learned manual, so practise and good luck!![]()
be careful about using neutrel as if the car is still moving it will be freewheeling...Originally posted by ^spidee^:For auto cars, use only one leg (usually the right).

Thanks Fatum. I heard that there are some cars with D1, D2, D3 etc?Originally posted by Fatum:everything is the same, except that now you do not have to change gears loh .....
so now you have, (among others depending on your car) .... a "Drive", a "Reverse", a "Neutral" ... and a "Park" ....
congrats btw ...![]()
okz from what i know. the auto got D gear and then 1 and 2. basically 1 and 2 are the gear 1 and 2 of your normal car. the purpose is for example if you wish to go downhill. you use the gear 1 or 2 for engin break so that your brakes are not worn out that fast.Originally posted by seventay:Thanks Fatum.
