Any Toyota Yaris Fans out there?

Yo... Fellow forum Bros,
As I'm new to this forum, Just wanna seek some advice from all you experts ;-)
I've seen postings in few threads saying that the Yaris is overpriced. What factors contributes to a car being overpriced?
I've just booked the car 2 weeks back and now am on the waiting list :-) was actually deciding between Fit and Yaris previously. Went to few PIs and some quoted the Fit $53K, 55k+, 57k+... dun know y got some many diff pricing as they are situated in the same car mart in Ubi?? Some quoted that their OMV is higher and quarantee to get the car, no top-ups needed etc.
Due to this and heard of many stories of not so trust worthy PIs... I dropped the Fit and go for the Yaris as I liked the European Design and the fact that it's a Toyayo (FC / reliability shld be gd)and it's the best selling model in Europe. Somemore it archieve 4 stars in NCAP crash test, spacious interior. One worry is that it's Thai-assembled, so dun know how is the quality and safety?
For those who had driven Jap cars for long, what's your general take between Thai and Jap assembled cars or Conti cars? For example those driven Vios or Altis... so far any problem?
Reasons for ordering now is that the worry for COE price heading further north due to quota cut in Apr. (Supply and demand concept)
Went to BM yesterday with my Bro and Aunt again 'cos my blurr SE forgot to ask me sign a docu. My Bro was doing the driving this time (he's currently driving a 5 yr-old Lancer).. his comments is that the car's engine is pretty powerful and quite even with 4 person inside (4 adults - total weight ard 250kg) but steering abit soft and the door doesn't give a solid feel when you close it... other than that rest is ok!
Hopefully I'll be able to get my ride by next month and no additional Top-ups needed
Perhaps it's my post-purchase dissonate :-p just wanna hear your views regarding the price tag and the general view of this car as compared to the Jazz/Fit, Vitz or Swift since these 3 are always being taken side by side in comparison.

Booked the same car 3 weeks ago just b4 the interest rate went up. I like the car and i think it's good. Hopefully can get the COE during the next bid.

Do u think this car could replace Jazz as the popular hatch in SG one day?
Since it's quite popular in Europe and JP... not sure how it'll perform in Asia?

105090 is currently taking driving lessons.
vios looks better. especially the one with the facelift. but the rear passenger space kinda cramped. i havent seen a Yaris in real life tho. only on tv. but i nvr get influenced by advertisements so i cant comment. u get the car already let me test drive ah wahahhaa.
if i had to buy a hatchback, i wud buy mazda 3 hatchback. but dad gonna book the sedan one. haizx. -

Hope yr dad change his mind lor and go for the hatch instead For me, reason y I chose hatch instead of sedan becoz I'm quite tall myself (1.82m), so the height of most sedan cars dun suit me, plus if I push the driver seat back to my comfy leg space, the back passengers will suffer.
When I test drive the Yaris, both the driver and back space are good. I like the interior, it's as spacious as the Altis
But of course, the discount is at the boot space la. But I figure, I dun need to put much stuff at the back, so not much of a problem here. Besides, it's flexible and adjustable.
Let's hope there's not much problem for this first batch of Yaris from BM (fingers-crossed)

If there was no yaris, probably i would get the swift.. yaris is quite powerful for a small car. you are right, there's no boot space, but i guess we were simply attracted by its outlook, and also the bigger passenger space as compared to the vios or swift. Anyway, i seldom carry much things.

Well.. for me, Initially thot the swift was nice as it looked pretty slick and also won quite a few awards but too bad the back space is way too crammy - small size as the picanto I guess...
For my height, it won't even fit in at the back seat!
BTW, wat color did u select? Mine's Med. Silver metallic -

I donno how they do the bidding but the agent told me not to worry. I took up the non-guaranteed COE, so how can I not worry..? Anyway, I just got to be patient. Which series did you book? I'm getting the E series, coz budget constrain.
So what other cars did u tested b4 deciding on Yaris? -

I booked the E model as well leh.... but after tat come to think, seems the "G" model more value for money leh...
'cos paying extra 2.5k for more features... wat u think?
I also went for the non-guaranteed COE bidding but I checked out with BM.. according to the SE, so far no top-ups from clients and quite certain to get COE. Just have to be patient lor.. unless COE goes up to > 15k within the 6th bid lah...
Wat car u tested be going for this? For me... I tested the Vios, Getz, Cerato and Fit. Initially wanted to settle for the Fit... 'cos JP made and heard more reliable... but worried about those PIs... scali cannot get yr ride in the end after they promise u this, promise u dat... -
Mmm.. I think the 60/40 reclining seat comes in handy especially when Yaris has such a tiny boot, other than that, I don't really require the fork lamp and foldable side mirror. I thought $2.5k is a bit ex.. so out of budget.
I liked Jazz initially, so went to test it out last yr at Kah Motor, followed by a few more cars.. Kia Rio, Chevelot Aveo. Then went to LengKee and tested Ford Laser + Hyundai Matrix for fun. I ever went to a PI at Sin Ming and thought that Vitz is good and I like it, just that it's a bit ex, price higher than Jazz.. can you imagine?.. So when Yaris came, I was very excited and decided to go for it. -

Now left the balance to payout and should be able to collect my ride by this month

p/p/s: i believe there's some bodykits u can order in from BBK, not very expensive. some are very nice esp the one that ur exhaust will be in the middle rear
