i dunno why ur dad says cefiro is too big. IMO, i dun think it is. otherwise it will not be in the same category as camry.Originally posted by wd1:yes Camry is better in cost, FC and reliability.
and when i asked my dad why he bought camry 2004 instead of new cefiro: "Cefiro too big la"
Cefiro has a longer wheelbase and overall length than the current Camry. But the new 2007 Camry has the same dimensions as the Cefiro.Originally posted by tiggersgd:i dunno why ur dad says cefiro is too big. IMO, i dun think it is. otherwise it will not be in the same category as camry.

That's true, but it's certainly big enough for me.Originally posted by tiggersgd:meaning what's big to you may not be big to others.

Some PIs are selling at $95K. I heard that BM is bringing in the 2007 Camry sometime 3rd quarter this year.Originally posted by wd1:yes Camry is better in cost, FC and reliability.

anyway the 2007 Camry definitely looks better in the flesh that in picture, i promise u that!
i just wonder how much the parallel importer is selling the 2007 Camry since Borneo Motors doesn't sell yet and there is no list price.
I am driving a 2003 Jap make camry. The braking part is ok, quite responsive but the tyre noise may be a bit irritating as I have encountered the same problem as you. Maybe it is due to the tyre profile/lifespan/alignment. My tyres are due for change, hopfully the road noise will goes off after that.Originally posted by cornyfish2000:Wah, you still remember ah.. haha. Yup, i got it last weekend, finally....
Turned out that Tan Chong took such a long time because it was betting for the COE to drop, so they waited for 3 biddings. But unfortunately for them, the COE rose steadily so they got no choice but to cut their profit and gave me an 11k open cat COE (i booked the car when the COE was 9.5k). Haha. I think my SE also got no face to ask me to top up, cos he was the one who promised me one and a half months ago that he had already secured an open cat COE for me, which has obviously turned out to be a lie.
The cefiro looks quite nice in the interior, what i don't like are the brakes (which produce a very long braking distance) and the road noise transmitted into the cabin through the tyres that is particularly intrusive when travelling along expressways. I wonder if the new Camry (or the current one) has these problems.
cheaper to buy the Mark X. I believe it's around 83k.Originally posted by IsIsTRD:Some PIs are selling at $95K. I heard that BM is bringing in the 2007 Camry sometime 3rd quarter this year.
Mark X should be abt $90K. Those PI who quote 87K and below either their OMV value is low, price w/o COE or someother gimmicks which is hidden. Normally after you book from them, they will give excuse that COE bidding not secure and ask you u top up and other nonense. Try to go to those reputable and established PI.Originally posted by LazerLordz:cheaper to buy the Mark X. I believe it's around 83k.

Tyre noise have which might also due to my almost worn out tyre condition. Need to change new tyre soon and will observe the noise again. I am sure the noise will reduce. The current nise level still ok. Not every car is perfect mah.Originally posted by tiggersgd:wah...3 yr old tires sure will heard noise lori'll be surprise if u dun have any by now.

yaya...relac...what i meant was that tires normally wear out even with normal driving (not speeding etc) after 2 yrs. my max with a set of tires was around 2.5yrs but the grip was still superb.Originally posted by IsIsTRD:Tyre noise have which might also due to my almost worn out tyre condition.
