Heres a reala dvice and i hope you take it seriously from me - Forget what you learn in driving school about parking. Forget about looking out for poles. USe the pillar or cars beside you to gauge. Try driving your car a 45degree angle and then slowly reverse into the slots. Make use of your side view mirrors and get a friend to help you gauge how close you are to the adjacent cars. After awhile you will be more confident.Originally posted by Jp1:I jus pass my tp test and i cant park in carpark which are like normal reverse de... I see people jus anyhow also can de...... maybe i too used to pole...

The 45 degree rule is your best bet. For me, I directed my sde mirrors slightly down so that I can see the lot when my car is entering the lot.Originally posted by Jp1:hmmm.... The advice like no much help... any more advice like when to turn and what steps to follow
this does nt apply to class 4 vehs....Originally posted by sinicker:pole touch arrow, one left turn.
pole disappear, full lock in!
i've driven a few times... but i've yet to do any parking.
I find it diffucult to forward park too.. maybe I dun do enuf of that. I usually reverse or parallel park.Originally posted by SEI:heres something strange for me.... i can parallel park, i can reverse park but i cant forward park. also i cannot park in the box when there is no cars around me. when there is cars everywhere i have no problem parking no matter how small the space is as long as the car can fit... quite strange...
Yes, this works well for me..Originally posted by nick34:If the parking lot that is empty and you know that the size of your car will fit nicely into the lot (SG mulit storey carpark fits all cars, its the way how others park) then apply what others said here ... 45 degree rule ...
For me, i also park my car using the 45 degree rule and i usually dont care about my left side mirror and just look at my right side mirror (This method you need to know the size of your car well i guess) and i will park as close to the car on my right. Once your rear wheel inline with the front bumper of the car on your right then full lock your steering wheel. At this time take a peep at your left mirror.
Note : Practice makes perfect ... Do it slow and do it good
this is why with this 45-degree method, which is apparently universal for all perpendicular parking (except the dumb driving centres), you have to align your car to the side where the lot is before forward slanting 45 degrees, then reverse in.Originally posted by Jp1:Hmm.... i try but i find if i do this way the car front will crash with the front car parking infront cos car park is like quite cramp
because it's the front wheels that are steering, turning in the forward direction has a different angle and radius from turning backwards.Originally posted by SEI:heres something strange for me.... i can parallel park, i can reverse park but i cant forward park. also i cannot park in the box when there is no cars around me. when there is cars everywhere i have no problem parking no matter how small the space is as long as the car can fit... quite strange...
