Why are lancers so cheap?

  I realized lancers are cheaper than other brands for the same capacity ..

  Perhaps due to positioning of the car for a diff consumer group? why the same chicken rice in some hotel asking for 20 bucks although it might not be better then one asking for 2 bucks?
  
  Or perhaps its because of the reputation of the company?

  bcos the basic model have no Alarm, no Anti-Rust Protection also giving cheapo Steel Rims with a huge cap.

  It's amusing to learn that rev sensor and alarm comes as freebies. Thought that suppose to be one of the standard items of a basic model?

  Well.. the car is ok for the price u pay. I think it works if you use it as a point A to B transport. FC is better than Sunny, CVT is smooth in normal driving. The dash looks ok too.
  
  But of coz, I must say they really try to cut cost sia.. to me, the car like no sound insulation at all.. road noise, tyre noise.. very loud. Also, when pushed, the engine sounded terrible.. its like having sand in it. The seats.. err.. somehow, i dun quite fit into it, the support is bad and if i take conner, feels like I'm going to fall off the seat! Road holding also not very good, turn alittle faster.. eeee.... eeee..... (warning to lancer owners, dun drive it like an EVO, even if you car looks like one ) Steering wheel.. feels cheap too.
  
  How come I know all these? I'm driving one for a few days.. some lady reverse her butt into my car (lucky its my old Xsara, not the other one.. )! But not bad as a replacement car (my workshop claim from NTUC!! ) .. coz its really new (10,000km onli).
  
  I guess thats why they need to sell them cheap. The car is position to fight the vios, city and sunny class. And considering these other cars, the Lancer is not bad.
