its definately better looking and equipped than the previous version. Looks more like the JDM Toyota Premio(a.k.a corona) but onli a smaller seized version of it.Originally posted by Theatre Of Dreams:how you guys find this new model? design seems good on the picture.

Would u chose this or the Aveo5 hatchback ?Originally posted by Theatre Of Dreams:how you guys find this new model? design seems good on the picture.
Why ? Please explain.Originally posted by ditzy:The stigma is still there, you can make the aveo look exactly like a golf r32, I still won't buy it.![]()

Please help as I am looking for a car under $50K (the lower the better).
Pica seems a little too small, is it me or I seem to be can rub shoulder with the SE while test drive ?
Thinking of Getz vs Aveo 5 or Sedan
Actually is the lower the better. & I shld be can afford OPC.Originally posted by mr sunray:I don't know about korean cars but with your budget, may be you can consider lancer, sunny, vios? MT version of these jap cars should be below $50k.
Good thing about MT is that it offers better FC and you can drive like a man.
Originally posted by skthk:Last time when korean and jap cars difference was like $10k or more, I'll sure go for korean car if got budget constraint.
But now can see back price is just under $50 (A) so ya like u said can consider Vios/Lancer etc.
Headache.
My friend told me Toyota only give 90% loan (which will be a problem for me)Originally posted by mr sunray:Last time when korean and jap cars difference was like $10k or more, I'll sure go for korean car if got budget constraint.
But now, the gap between them is getting smaller.
Though korean cars have been improving the last few years but most people here will still play safe by getting a jap car if the price between them is like $5k or less.
With your budget, you may be able to get a good decent jap car.
wah the fc so gd? almost bought the old model last yr... but end up didnt... hahas... saw the road show at bugis few weeks back... the interior is bigger... nice...Originally posted by Theatre Of Dreams:
"Some basic statistics for you guys to get an idea of how big it is. The length of the car is 4310mm, width is 1710mm and height is 1495mm. As a comparison, the Toyota ViosÂ’s length is 4285mm, itÂ’s width is 1695mm and itÂ’s height is 1435mm. So this Chevrolet Aveo Sedan is actually slightly bigger than the Vios in every way - length, width, and height.
Engine options showcased at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show were 1.2 and 1.4 liter models. Apparently the 1.2 liter is very fuel efficient, rated at 6.8 liters of fuel for 100km, and the 1.4 liter model uses 7 liters of fuel for 100km for manual transmissions. For auto transmissioms, Chevrolet says you need to add 0.6 liters to those figures. The car comes with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission."
FC translates to 14-15km/l.
103bhp, not sure if it's for the 1.2L or 1.4L version.
a worthy candidate to challenge the popular Vios???![]()

they mixed up the price of Aveo5(hatchback) with the Aveo Sedan.
Aveo sedan is $43,988.
aND may issue of motoring Got Verna vs Rio Vs Aveo go check it out.
Price is not the lone factor, also u must go Kia showroom to get the actual selling price. Also price from Kia goes up & down with COE. As for Hyundai worse, got bidding price which can be $6k-$8k lower than listed price.Originally posted by heluim:like tt get kia rio better man.. since is 4 k cheaper.. alot man..
Look at the steering wheel...clearly GM are so lazy that they couldnt be bothered 2 redesign the daewoo steering but instead slapped a chevy badge on it....another one of GM's B@stardized carsOriginally posted by Theatre Of Dreams:
Bro u already said not so sure abt FC, believe it's comparable with most cars.Originally posted by bendito.L:Am driving the 1st gen Aveo
regretted gettin it (it was coz fren of a fren recommended it)
1st din know it was a DAEWOO until AFTER i bought it
2nd its very underpowered
even after i added so called recommeded "improvements"
FC also not very good (actually i'm no t veru sure on this coz i dun really observe my FC)
seriously u are deluded by GM's marketing man.....the Only GM cars tt i like are volvo, chevy corvette and the HSV commodore..the rest are BS....b@stardized cars...the once great opel is now nothing more than a nameOriginally posted by skthk:Bro u already said not so sure abt FC, believe it's comparable with most cars.
Underpower, maybe.
About DAEWOO, some quote I copy to here -
GM had took over Daewoo.
Current Aveo's are not Daewoo. It's not Daewoo in disguise.
Daewoo = GM Opel/Vauxhall transplants = Korean Opel/Vauxhall
To say Daewoo bad is like saying Opel/Vauxhall bad.
The old Lanos uses the old Astra G's platform. It has the same sort of handling as the Astra which explains why they are popular in the US.
Daewoo or not Daewoo, the quality of cars produced is improving under GM's managment is more important. As for the disguise thingy you keep mentioning,it is all part of the rebranding game. Eg. Organics shampoo now is renamed as Sunsilk,Darkie toothpaste renamed as Darlie, etc.
the local chevys are using the Family 1 engines.
