if you wanna roadster, either BMW Z4, Merc SLK or Lexus SC430.
if you wanna cabrio/coupe, either BMW 330CI, second-hand BMW M3 or Merc CLK. -

SC430 is jap.
Don't waste money on the M3 new, its already an old model. Go for a 330I sedan, lots of fun!
But if you want a roadster and don't want to spend too much money, you have to consider the new mazda miata or MX5, its a great drive!
slk over the clk, clk too lardy for me. Slk only if you want a hard top.
Then again, the cooper S is a fun car to drive! And they have a cabrio version. -

You have to specify what kind of car you want? Sports coupe? Sedan? SUV? Tuner/Imports?
I can roughly suggest you save some of those cash and get a Golf GTi with DSG since most SG-eans are lazy to use their left foot. The rest of that cash you can mod the car or save it and invest. -

On the other hand, between 200-300k, depends on how much of a car nut you are. If you're really keen on performance, go for the Lotus. If you need some practicality too, go for a Cooper S, mod it up a little. -
