Thanks! The dealer was very keen for me to do it. He said it's worth it esp when it has 10-year warranty.
Tough coat is not that useful in my opinion. The undercarriage is not really exposed to too much corrosive elements, such as salt, which may be more common in wintry areas.[/b]
I don't find the pickup a problem. Only do so when I pack 3 people in the back. So I don't have a solution for you.Originally posted by Nakamarchie:Hi Hi.
Moi been driving my march since last christmas, always find the pickup pretty slow and draggy. any one did anything to improve it. At TC or elsewhere?
Hit my 10,000! Going to the servicing very soon.
Oh, the 3rd to 4th gear change is around 65km/h for me. When going downhill, it'll switch at 60 sometimes. If uphill, probably around 70.Originally posted by Nakamarchie:What i observed was the switch from 3rd gear to 4th gear is very draggy.
It doesn't seems to hit 4th gear at 60kmh, only aft 70kmh then it will up gear. Does anyone experience that? (so call draggy to me).
So if driving at 60, it will be stuck at 3rd gear all the way.(Kind of irritate me though!)
Going to TC today for my servicing, hope they can help!
It looks alright to me. My one also got similar gap. The stock suspension is quite soft.Originally posted by dreamingaboutmarch:

Hi,
I was asking about the gap between chassis and wheels. Doesn't the gaps seem a little wider? Is this normal?
Hi Nick34,Originally posted by nick34:Hi all Marchie drivers,
Currently I am discussing with a developer of Changi Airport T3 with regard to the test of the Cashcard parking system. He told me that he might need 30 cars. So is there anyone who is interested in this ? Not confirm yet as he have not reply me on the date and time that he need the cars.
No perks or whatsoever. Just some free refreshments.
Also there is a hatch back car club into this so if march club is interested, we can do a combined meetup.
Anyone ?
Regards
Nick34
hihi, maybe we can meet up at the next outing, hopefully at the new changi t3 ..........interested??Originally posted by chewbacca80:wahh march family is growing! can organise a march meet up soon
It depends a lot on your driving style. Most cars today including our March has an ECU that controls the engine, based on variables such as air/engine temp, engine speed, air density, how hard you accelerate. If you step hard, then the ECU will think you are requesting more power and so will either kick down the gear or upshift later (i.e. staying in 3rd). If you drive lighter, it will upshift faster because it thinks you are just cruising.Originally posted by Nakamarchie:Went for my servicing. TC say is by default, so is normal. Sianz. Not one who like to exceed those speed limit of 50 or 60.
Stuck at 3rd gear to me, as compared to be at 4th gear, in my opinion la.. is wasting fuel lo. (correct me if i'm wrong)
Note that the warranty is not from the factory or dealer, i.e. not from Nissan (like our car warranty) or from TC. It is likely from the 3rd party vendor, who may or may not be around in 10 years, and even if so, they may not answer your phone call.Originally posted by dreamingaboutmarch:Thanks! Our March comes with 14" wheels, unless you get the Elegance version which is 15". This car was designed as a comfortable runabout city car, so will have softer suspension. I actually find the car very relaxing to drive on Singapore roads because of the softness and super-powered assisted steering wheel. I can make turns with 2 fingers on the wheel!Originally posted by Si Geena:It looks alright to me. My one also got similar gap. The stock suspension is quite soft.
The bottle of coolant is not going to help if your car overheats. First, you can't even open the coolant tank because the hot steam will burn anyone nearby and scald the engine (coolant can be corrosive on the rubber/plastic parts). The car is overheating, not because there is not enough coolant, but it's simply overworked.Originally posted by Si Geena:The plan does include Langkawi. My gf is the one pulling the act together. I'm just along to drive there and back.
I'll look under the bonnet this Sat, and see if anything needs topping up. King Mariot has kindly advised a bottle of coolant to prepare against possible overheating.
Thank you.

mmmmm.... if you wanna get more power, can try the usual ways... Change exhaust muffler (not just the Head ah) and the Extractor/Manifold....Originally posted by Nakamarchie:Hi Hi.

Thank you all for your replies. I went down to Tan Chong and saw that the gap is normal. Phew! Thought I bought a lemon. It really is a sweet engine.Originally posted by Shooting_Cloud:Our March comes with 14" wheels, unless you get the Elegance version which is 15". That however is not good for sporty driving, which require sharper and tighter steering, harder and lower suspension for cornering, and of course more power.
A quick and economical fix is to change to 16" alloys. It will fill up the wheel arches more and give better handling. Ride will be harder, and there will be more wear & tear on the shocks because there is less rubber to cushion the bumps and so the shocks have to do all the cushioning. Of course, they are under warranty, so if the shocks fail (i.e. leaking or soft) then get them replaced before year 3 is over!
By the way, based on the UK Micra forum, the 16" tyre size is 185/50R16 (16x6j rims). If you want to "go all the way", then can try 205/40R17 (17x7j rims) but be ready for a really bumpy ride as you're practically riding on metal as there's little rubber...![]()
very fast hor? i got it within 2 weeks or so. cos it's showroom piece i guess. i haven't bot any gift for my car. gps sounds good. where did u get it and how much. i also bit nervous ha ha! when exactly you collecting it?Originally posted by chewbacca80:WAHHHH heh congrats!! thats v fast, i mean the speed in which you are getting your car!!
haa see you if i ever see u! congrats!!
i just bought a present for my March, its a gps system.. haa
will collect my car when i am back fr aussie! cant wait, but i am kinda apprehensive about driving it out of the show room, super new driver.. so if u see an air blue with yellow plate... tolong tolong be patient with me!
i got my gps system fr pc show eastgear booth, its called g-nav, preloaded with mapking singapore and malaysia and mal sing maps... but one of the disadvantage of this system compared to the usual garmin nuvi is that probably harder to load in maps of other country. Got it for 599, good thing is that it is easy to use and the maps are updated once a month.Originally posted by dreamingaboutmarch:very fast hor? i got it within 2 weeks or so. cos it's showroom piece i guess. i haven't bot any gift for my car. gps sounds good. where did u get it and how much. i also bit nervous ha ha! when exactly you collecting it?
A couple of useful upgrades that I would recommend right away. Firstly is to change the horn. This is actually a big safety issue because the March gets bullied on the road a lot. With a pip squeak sounding horn, nobody will care. Change to a nice pair of Stebel Magnums will make a world of difference. It is so loud that other drivers will think it's a lorry behind them, and stop to give way. The cost is only about $20 plus maybe $10 installation charge.Originally posted by dreamingaboutmarch:Thank you all for your replies. I went down to Tan Chong and saw that the gap is normal. Phew! AND I am collecting my March on Monday! It's an elegance. Dream come true!!
And I think 15" is just fine. DOn't think Iwill be upgrading it.
As for the tough coat told the agent don't think it's necessary. Won't be doing any major upgrades to the car at this point. Haven't sold my soul to the car yet. haha!
Excited!)))
I am counting down for you ChewBacca!Originally posted by Shooting_Cloud:A couple of useful upgrades that I would recommend right away. Firstly is to change the horn. The 2nd upgrade is the light bulbs. Philips has these extra bright bulbs that fits our March. The procedure for replacing the headlight bulbs is in the manual and I did it myself in 10 min. Just pull out and replace. It's the same wattage so won't cause any problems for the electrical system. The extra brightness makes it easier on the eyes, and more noticeable by other cars. Cost is about $40 a pair.![]()
i've used my horn at least once a day and i collected my car on monday. van dashed across just as i was taking a right turn on green and somemore i was the 4th car. and then jaywalkers. aiyooooo!Originally posted by Si Geena:I dun use my horns much.
