which is y i say....go for drop ins which are better since nowadays airboxes are DESGINED to take in cold air from the outside properly....unlike the past....Originally posted by siaokao:The above mentioned rubbish will do nothing more than wasting your time and $$. Other "performance parts" do work, however they ususlly come with tradeoffs.
For example, changing to harder shocks and lowering your car do improve your handling somewat. But at the expense of comfort.
Choose your "performance parts" carefully. Cos some do give you -ve performance gains.. such as putting a 3" exhaust system on your 1000cc car. other than ego boosting sound effects.. your car is likely to be slower than a stock car! Of coz, most ppl will not notice that.. coz with that kinda sound effect.. you car "feels" really "fast and furious"!Same goes for open pod air-intake that sucks in hot air under your bonnet.. whahahaa!!
drop-in air filter is the one which is just used 2 replace yr stock one....same as yr stock but much more free-flowing....fits into yr stock airbox of yr car...open pod is those cone shaped filter....even more free flowing cos have 2 remove airbox..but if not shielded properly can take in hot air and case yr car 2 lose powerOriginally posted by LH83:Wat's the difference between a drop in air filter and an open pod air filter? I dun really know....
turbo/turbocharger usually refers to the turbine unit and turbo-charge is the act of using a turboOriginally posted by rollbread:Can someone tell me whether turbo n turbo charge refers to the same thng? And does it help for having a turbo charge?
eh can install la.. a lot of red tape onli mah..Originally posted by guitarman1:turbo/turbocharger usually refers to the turbine unit and turbo-charge is the act of using a turbo
E.g "What turbo you running on?"
" Did you turbo-charge your car?" or "Your car got lup tuubo?!"
Turbo is generally the easiest way to gain horsepower, though need to change quite a few things for the complete setup. And locally, its illegal to install/mod turbocharger.
The gain in something will always result in the lost in others. You will never have the ideal set up. It is only ideal in the eyes of the beholder.Originally posted by AE86tofu:drop-in air filter is the one which is just used 2 replace yr stock one....same as yr stock but much more free-flowing....fits into yr stock airbox of yr car...open pod is those cone shaped filter....even more free flowing cos have 2 remove airbox..but if not shielded properly can take in hot air and case yr car 2 lose power
