How much do u think this car is worth with 2 1/2 years left of coe which cannot be renewed. Would u pay 13k for this car? and what are the risk of problems =)) hope to hear advice from u guys thanks alot bros!!

No i wont pay 6K a yr for an 86 that cannot be renewed.
if you want better analysis, give the numbers of the no. plate with do. can leave out the letters. -
anyway as a gauge, i am paying only $3.8K a yr for my car which CAN be renewed at the end of its COE life.

Its not exactly not worth it to get this car. Pros and Cons. $13k for 2 1/2 years means about $5.5k per year. that's alot, for a old car, irregardless if its a levin. The market price for Truenos and Levins in Singapore are set by the owners themselves. If not for InitialD, these cars don't worth more than probably $1-2k above paper, (depending on condition) JiaYong had his car at about $9k above paper. And is deprec. at about almost $4k a year too. But at least its renewable. But if you really want a Levin, because its rare then it may be a good choice. You can put yourself in a mind that this ride is only for your next 2 1/2 years, and you can enjoy all you want, without worrying about future maintaince. As long as the car still runs, that's all it matters, because at the end of the day, the car will be scrapped. Those whose car is to renewed after 10years, have to maintain in good condition, so to be able to sell off in future.
But bear in mind, you have to folk out $13k cash. Loan is quite impossible.

I went to check. Is it a black levin (no pop up lamps) with carbon fibre bonnet that you are looking at?
If it is, i will say the driving experience you are going have in those 2.5 yrs is well worth it.
You will never get a taste of something like that ever again.
Trust me...i know the "inside" details. -
Its a black levin which is very very powerful. but it's rather steep for e price. If i stay in a landed property can i keep it in my house after that =)) thx for ya replies bro

Can, but LTA will often check to see that its there.
And you will be fined if it is not found to be there.
You can apply for permit to move it to track events via tow trucks. -

And you're one POS that word have been going around that you have given a cheque as a deposit for an AE86 and because of last minute change of mind on your side, you cancelled the cheque that is already handed over. Do you understand the MEANING of paying a deposit in the 1st place??!!? -

haha...no problems. I know almost all the 86s in singapore. Out of my mind, i can only think of 1 that i dunno his name at all and another 2 that i have little contact with.
Else all the other 86's i still get in touch with them very often.
No worries, i dont take anything posted on forums to heart.
Anyway, the black levin of concern use to belonged to my mechanic. My ex owner and this mech were good friends. One driving a levin, the other a trueno.
I bought the trueno and the levin was sold due to family commitments. The levin was sold to a regular customer of my mech too. Thus we are one whole group that get together very often.
My first reply was harsher cos I thot you were looking at another 86. That 86 is not worth that price in my opinion.
He is right. I paid $8K above paper value for my car. COE expired within 2 weeks and i had to pay $30K for COE thus making my car a total cost of $38K.
Thus making it a $3.8K depreciation a year. -

the levin in Q is not road legal?! 13k for a track car wor... but still, from a racing angle, i can understand it. Everyday I see adverts for Radical SR3s and Caterham R500s... tempted...

Cos its the most affordable RWD with good power to weight ratio and 50 - 50 weight distribution.
Personal opinion, going straight fast depends on how deep your wallets are.
Going full scale sideways depends on how much time you have spent with your car. -

He's saying that when the COE has EXPIRED (non-renewable) and you want to keep the car within the compounds of your house and not scrap it, the LTA will check and fine you when the car is not within the compounds etc etc, since the car is not supposed to be moving around on the roads.
