Technically if your running normal engine variants (i.e. not TFSI, FSI engines) you can use a minimum of 92 but most use Ron95 to play safe so you don't get engine pinging.Originally posted by katrine:Hello, can i know wat petrol to pump if drive a 1.6 manual car. and how the petrol works why is there unleaded 92, 95, 98 and v-power... isn't it all petrol burn the same??

The type of fuel to use does not depend on the size of the engine.Originally posted by katrine:Hello, can i know wat petrol to pump if drive a 1.6 manual car. and how the petrol works why is there unleaded 92, 95, 98 and v-power... isn't it all petrol burn the same??
drivers would want dat, but think of e consequences.. roads will haf so many cars, more traffic jams and waiting time, end up govt haf to raise taxes. bottomline is while we get cheaper cars dat r cheaper to run, ultimately, e govt will still make it expensive to own a car.Originally posted by CPL:Ideal is to allow the new diesel cars to be sold in SG...diesel costs much less than petrol and the Euro4 standard engines burn cleaner than the current petrol engines..![]()
V-power is useless if yr car's engine is not tuned to take advantage of the fuel....tried and tested liao....on a chassis dynoOriginally posted by RSP:The type of fuel to use does not depend on the size of the engine.
RON 95 will be good enough for most cars. 98 will definitely be good enough for any car.
V-power is a performance enchancing fuel(basically 98 + some addictives) but it's very expensive.
Try not to use RON-92 for newer cars.
