hmm .. the SLR is long in front and short behind .. I can't imagine an elongated boot spaceOriginally posted by n0x:life's boring...joke a bit nvm mah.. why so serious bro...
u want the answer.. here it is...
the engine in fact is not in the rear.. or rather mid mounted in font of the rear axle... this allows for better weight distribution coming close to or arriving at 50/50... this layout is used almost universally in GT and supercars... with the exception of a few like SLR and the FR ferraris like 599 or 612...
coupled with 4wd the handling of the gallardo is veh neutral with a slight tendency to understeer...
of cos the disadvantage is ur engine is where the rear passengers seats are supposed to be..so u can only sit 2 pple.. but nobody cares as long as its u and tt chio bu beside u
boot is juz where u put ur stuff.. in fact some cars with mid mounted engine has 2 boots!!
u mean the italians, they use the gallardo to transport human organs from one place to another ? wont helicopter be faster ? why use gallardo ? i thought gallardo is high-way police patrol car ?Originally posted by Icemoon:hmm .. the SLR is long in front and short behind .. I heard the gallardo can be quite hot .. this was a concern for the Italian police who used the Gallardo to transport human organs.
hmm .. will the Gallardo spyder passenger seats be very hot 'cos no air con?![]()
The SLR's powerplant is in front..Originally posted by Icemoon:hmm .. the SLR is long in front and short behind .. I can't imagine an elongated boot space

really... who cares when you are driving a lambo?Originally posted by Icemoon:This is quite confusing.
Apparently the bonnet or hood is defined with respect to the engine. So in this case, it is boot = bonnet for Gallardo?
Or is boot defined with respect to the luggage compartment? In this case, boot and bonnet positions for Gallardo are reversed.
cost bah. I don't think hospitals or red cross so rich to afford helicopter as transport.Originally posted by bounce34:u mean the italians, they use the gallardo to transport human organs from one place to another ? wont helicopter be faster ? why use gallardo ? i thought gallardo is high-way police patrol car ?
I wonder why they are the exception? Won't an elongated boot space be quite cute?Originally posted by Gukkie:The SLR's powerplant is in front..
SL series of Mercedes will always be fornt engine mounted. Its like a trademark.Originally posted by Icemoon:I wonder why they are the exception? Won't an elongated boot space be quite cute?![]()
how's the weight distribution like? isn't front engine not optimal for sport cars?Originally posted by nullifi3d:SL series of Mercedes will always be fornt engine mounted. Its like a trademark.
since its MR, the weight distrubution is quite good. As its an MR car, your question doesn't apply to it. But yes, front engine is not as optimal for performance.Originally posted by Icemoon:how's the weight distribution like? isn't front engine not optimal for sport cars?
they've probably made a mistakeOriginally posted by Icemoon:hmm .. how come wikipedia classifies Gallardo as an MR RWD? Isn't Gallardo an AWD car?
They put it under "This is a list of Mid-engine, Rear wheel drive cars as described in MR layout."Originally posted by HENG@:they've probably made a mistake
lamborghini.com says its rear differential is limited to 45% slip, its front differential is limited by ABD function. Whatever that means.Originally posted by Icemoon:hmm .. how come wikipedia classifies Gallardo as an MR RWD? Isn't Gallardo an AWD car?
dun have u see wrong.. i see mid engine awd..Originally posted by Icemoon:hmm .. how come wikipedia classifies Gallardo as an MR RWD? Isn't Gallardo an AWD car?
which url you see?Originally posted by n0x:dun have u see wrong.. i see mid engine awd..
anyways dun be too obsessesd with gallardo.. its juz lamborghini injected with common sense by audi.. *yawn*
wiki loh... bettle???!?!! anyways u paste the url i go see..Originally posted by Icemoon:which url you see?
The Gallardo quite cute mah .. machiam the beetle of the sports car family.
to say MR RWD is a bit of a redundency.Originally posted by Icemoon:They put it under "This is a list of Mid-engine, Rear wheel drive cars as described in MR layout."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_MR_Cars
Are there a lot of mistakes in the list?
PS: On further thought, I think they are saying MR or RWD. It is confusing why they are lumping the two under MR cars.
