Hi i recently installed the EZ-Stab device onto my '98 honda civic. It has indeed improved my petrol consumption from 13km/L to 14.5km/L.
However, i am experiencing a problem. Whenever i start my car in the morning or after a long time i have to hold the key ignition in place for more than 3 seconds whilst the spark plugs squeal and clang before the engine fires up. Anyone knows why is this so?
I have reversed engineered the Ez-stab box and found out that it is just a rechargable battery. It stores power in it and slowly releases it to the battery so the engine does not need to keep charging up the battery hence saving fuel and decreasing RPM, increasing "power". However, it will have to be charged up at the start of each drive, hence RPM will remain quite high during the first few minutes of each drive.
Could this be due to the fact that my battery was nearly depleted during the non-driving period and cause this problem? Would changing to better spark plugs solve my problem?
I need help guys. really appreciate it. thanks.

Ask your mechanic next time you send it for servicing. Cranking should have something to do with the current flow, starter. The spark plugs will have less of a role generally unless you did not change your plugs for a long time. If you got this problem after you started using the device, it may be due to that particular device itself. It may be draining the power of your batt and end up, you having to change your batt prematurely. In this case, it will not justify the point of it being supporting fuel saving.

well, there are so many things like that selling to install. i'd say keep it at stock is still better. u said fuel consumption gets better, i doubt so.
seen many ppl who installed, voltage stabilizers, etc. blur blur.. often have battery drain coz of faulty devices.. they're cheap things anyway. your car alternator already have voltage stabilizing feature. so, remove your damn thing and you'll be in peace of mind..

It's interesting to know that ez-stab can improve fc.
If it really can improve fc, then i better throw away my broquet in-tank.

The Broquet works well at first... but after sometime it makes yr ride feel real sluggish
