Mitsubishi Lancer?

I need comments or reviews about this car. My frd is pretty interesting cos of the attractive freebies and cash rebates they offer. However, i heard pretty negative comments abt lancer. I dun see many SG-something lancers running on the road.
I need some concrete feedback abt this car so i can advice my frd.
He is deciding on vios, lancer, getz, verna. I told him vios is a good buy.

hmm lancer.....ok i occasionally drive around my mum's 03 GLX, so far its been nice. choy choy of coz, it didnt stall on us anytime anywhere. but lately its been drinking petrol like nothing. around 10km/l dats lil compared to my friends amazing 13-14km/l. he can get 600+ for full while i get 450-500max.
Has no problem with the auto transmission at all..but overall i find it very unpowered. need to step quite hard to feel the move. dun like the loud engine noise when at high rev. its not like a Vtec or something which u like to hear it roar but it sounds awful.
Overall its been a pleasant 1 week ride with it. -
Lancer fuel consumption not as good as vios rite?
The thing is my frd is damn tempted by the freebies they offer... cash rebate and stuff.
Borneo dun have much loh... i dun think got cash rebate too.
Last time lancer used to be a popular and good car rite... dun know what happen nowadays... last time for 1.6 litre its either corolla civic or lancer.

Ask your friend what he needs for the car. Space, FC, built quality, road handling, comfy?
IMHO, go for lancer if need space, reasonable FC and built quality (Jap made).
But heard lancer is underpowered when going upslope, brake got spongy effect and auto gear box problem. -

I dun tink it is auto gear stall. I know alot of people complain that at gear3 & 4. Auto will have jerks. It happen to alot of cars and i still dunno why.
Auto gear if stalled, you can go change a new gear box already. The car only drive on gear 1.. lolz
Lancer got a few things to take note. Rear suspension system. Seems like alot of owners notice that after sometime, it tend to sink down more on 1 side.
The gear ratio set in CVT seems like is in quite a good settings. Heard from some auto user.
Mantainace on teh average price but spare parts(stock) damn ex.
If looking for a normal car with average FC+space+look, Lancer can be considered.
Bad pointer: the dash board looks quite outdated.
But with good way to modding the ride to become ricey, would be nice. Appearance kit up would be quite nice looking. -

according to ex colleague, it was an auto... n yes the gear box was changed n it was a new lancer... once the sunny i was driving was brought to workshop cos got some problems in morning then hv warning lights n the nissan guy say the car stalled oso...

Power yet fuel saving? or Luxury yet no budget. Juz be content with what you can get. -

What i meant in good settings as in when the gear which was auto change is quite appropriate to the speed and rpm. Normal driving is ok. But hard driving...I kept on hearing bad comments such as jerk.Originally posted by AE86tofu:Since when CVT has fixed gear ratios??
