help. i cant park.

hey hello guys. my mazda3 just turned one week old today. but there's one problem that i feel makes me a bad driver.
i cant park vertically at my hdb carpark.
usually when there is a slot where there is a car on the left, i wud use the position of that car as a guide. when i park in nicely, parallel to the car beside and get out.. take the lift.. reach home and go to the kitchen, i realise how horrible my parking is. that car which i used as reference also parked badly. damn i shudnt have followed it.
if it is a slot where there are no cars beside them, den i'll have a super hard time parking.
how how how??? -

so i just reached home. just now got empty lot with two cars on each side. gauged my position accurately and my parking was superb just now.

buy a set of 6 black and white poles. my cousins teach mi open ur side window.. & look behind through e open window.. juz 1 side enuff.. & reverse.. but do remember to check ur left side of e car gt hit other cars or wall anot.. i at times do wad my father do.. open e driver's door & look back & reverse lol..

yeah now is horsepower liao.
the markngs on the road so small. just a small white 't'.
i can park at my camp better coz' the bricks are of different colours. red and grey.
at home, all is grey.
nvm ah.. i guess practice makes perfect. -

The only bad thing about learning to drive in Singapore is that you never learn how to park in a real situation. They use poles to guide you and then your instructor actually teaches you a method to "cheat" so that you can park nicely within the 4 poles with just one try... so as time goes by, you become an expert when it comes to parking within poles... just remember the code "turn the wheel 2 rounds when u see the first pole touch the side mirror.... and so on"
And then when u finally pass, u realise that you dunno how to park at all.... i suggest that you learn to park nicely and straight with no cars on your left or right.... when u're good with tht already, try it with a car on your left and then right.... lastly, try it with cars on both sides... do this at a deserted carpark... rule of thumb is --> DO NOT DAMAGE OTHER PPL'S CAR!
As for parallel parking, it's harder to find chance to learn.... never try to squeeze in to a small space if u're new to parallel parking..... never attempt to parallel park beside a busy road where a lot of cars will pressurize u to hurry up.... just try at some deserted place.... find a big space between 2 cars and try it....
**USE YOUR OWN JUDGEMENT. GET A FEEL OF YOUR CAR'S DIMENSIONS AND RESPONSE. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS "FOLLOW A PARTICULAR PATTERN AND GET IN NICELY STRAIGHT AWAY. -

My dad last time got car...never reversed into the parking slot!
He lazy la...always drive straight into the slot and park!
Reversing out is ok la.... but will kana horned if u do that in narrow roads!
My Uncle power....can parallel park his Toyota HiAce with 1 attempt all the times! Park swee swee sia!
Next time I got car must practise parking whenever I'm free! -
use side mirrors..adjust them pointin downwards so can see road lines

but on mon night embarassing sia. i was doing a u-turn and i put my hands on the spokes of the steering wheel. den while turning quickly, i blasted the horn. -
