2007 Camry from Borneo Motors - any comments?

Drivers of PI 2007 Camry - any comments on car so far? Now that BM is bringing it in, I might consider but the car looks quite plain.

is it in the showrooms already ? saw it in the newspaper and its look rather different from the ones that parallel importers brought in. The new 2007 looks rather big, looks like crown frm the rear. any pics of the new 2007 camry ?

Nah. The new camry is still not out in the showroom yet. They do not even haf the price list out yet. But heard ard, there are already a few orders for tat car. Some ppl dun need the pricing to buy a car eh. hee.

is it just me or is that is toyota making their cars uglier and making Lexus look DAMN good. well the new camry certainly looks better then the one it is replacing but the back curves need abit of getting used to. it looks very round... like an elongated hamburger... for the PI one at least.

I saw one in my neighbourhood, has a more masculine shape now. Borneo motors sent a brochure of it to my folks too. Available in 2.0 and 2.4 versions, but the 2.4 version comes with all the extra stuff like keyless ignition.

I think bm 1 is still frm thailand rite??? i noe pi 1 is frm japan... cos if u notice the camry frm bm, the headlights r larger... tail lights also a bit diff...
btw, any1 gt comments abt camrys frm thailand??? -

i like it's design leh. i would pick it over a Cefiro anyday.

No offense, but i would pick the cefiro anytime... feel tt the cefiro is more comfort biased. (VQV6 has been winning ward's auto top 10 best engine award for the past 12 consecutive years.) I feel that the new camry is far too conservatively styled liao... and like someone pointed out, looks just like a Mazda 6 or 3.

i'll still choose a toyota over a nissan anytime, all the time!
be in terms of resale value or a slant towards the conti feel, toyota beats nissan hands down.
no offense to nissan lovers here. n yes, i dun like nissan

that's true. still quality comes over time. mentality and culture of the country that manufactures it takes time too. but for now, it is still acceptable. what's important is their word on the car (warranty) and their reliability in their engines. all else should come secondary. no lah... i think the bm camry is 1 wif a bigger headlamps... true tt thai cars come wif warranty, but it's 2 much of a hassle 2 keep bringing the car dwn 4 pblm 2 be rectified leh... sometimes may even hv 2 bring it dwn a few times 4 the same pblm...
as in the case of my dad's nissan (jap made, but wif locally installed parts)... when he bought the car the SE say it was special edition... in the end really damn special... hv 2 bring it dwn 2 svc centre many times (when i say many, i MEAN many) 2 fix pblm wif the driver's chair, door runner and squeak frm dashboard (which was in the end solved by me using some duct tape...)
