S Course Tips

Anybody can give me tips for S course, how to stay in the middle and avoid straying too close to the kerb, which points to note and check for. Thanks.

if u enter the S from the tail end of the S (turning right then left n finally exit on the right >> S )
1. keep ur vehicle positioned more on the left (if turning right and vice versa)
2. remember as u turn, ur front 2 wheels turn first and followed by ur rear 2 wheels which acts as a pivot. by this, i mean that if u are too near to either side of the S-curve, ur rear will hit the kerb/mount kerb which is immediate failure.
3. when u steer, don't be panicky. try to steer slowly as u accelerate n clutch at the same time. one point to note (personally), is that u need to see ur front of the vehicle clearing ur side before u make a turn. it is very similar to a parking theory/practical when u are abt to come out from a parking lot.
otherwise, ask ur instructor and go more rounds in the circuit. practise makes perfect. -

BUT if you're really desperate and juz thinking of how to get thru this 'S' course in your circuit to pass, here's the trick and tips:
- from your driver point of view, focus on your "L" plate in front and at all times while driving in and out from the 'S' course, make sure your 'L' plate is always cruising on top of the outter (right side) kerb ...
- if your "L" plate didn't touch the kerb in your eye point of view, your rear wheel could most prob hit the kerb, and if your "L" plate go beyond the kerb (hit grass patch area from your eye point of view) then most prob your front wheel will hit the kerb
So as much as possbile, drive thru the 'S' course having your "L"plate on the kerb from your eye point of view, of course not literally ...
PS: This wun work if your "L" plate is positioned on the extreme left or right of the front car, if it's position just on the right side on the car license plate, still within centre area, it'll do.

Best is to judge by your own "agaration" or estimation. After a few times thru the "S" course, u should be able to judge adequetely enough on how to manuveure thru it without hitting the kerbs. if you want to u can try to lean forward and observe if ur car is too close to the curb or smth......just remember of the parallax error...u actually need less space then u think u need...den if u have to reverse just reverse...first time's free haha
second time 2pts..3rd time also..but fourth time den fail liao la... -
did your instructor told u about using the knobs on front cover..u can use it to judge loh..
one thing is to be quick (but not speeding)..too slow got a high chance to hit kurb.. -
when u see ur bonnet cover the kerb turn liao

My instructor used to tell me to visualise my right/left foot hence the right/left wheel to be middle of the course at all times, depending if turning right or left during the course. In this way, there will be sufficient clearance on both sides. Hope this helps
