Hi, if the readers here still remembers me, Im a new Lexus IS250 owner. Yes, I just collected my car yesterday. I love it totally! I was a BM fan but not for long, not becos the car is not gd but rather, i detest the way they 'lay-long' their car. More often than not, they slashed $$ and I felt sorry for the BM owners who bought their cars when first launched. Anyway, there will definitely be a no of readers here debate on the choices of car, most imptly, u've test drive the car and get the feel of it. Lexus hardly known as 'bad car'. So I dont think that shld be your main concern.Originally posted by DiablosX:Hi there!
I just had an earlier post about the probability of getting the RX-8.
Deep down, i am a Lexus fan and i am truely in love with the IS250 although my wife did comment otherwise.
I understand from some other local forums that the build quality this time round is not that "god-like" (perfect) for the IS250. I wonder is that really true or is it just another competitor making some Lexus Bashing in his postings
I wonder whether anybody here has some comments on tat?
I truely belive that Lexus makes almost perfect cars but i do have an issue. I was thinking if one day, everyone realizes how reliable is Lexus and eventually switch to it, will the mass production or increased operational cost eventually cause BM to change their service quality as well? (in Singapore)
As such, i would like to have some feedback from actual owners or test drivers on the overall feel of the ride for the new IS250.
1. Fuel Economy
2. Issurance
3. Problems? (Small tight back seats?)
Thank you in advance to all the wonderful people out there!
Hi again..Originally posted by DiablosX:Wow an actual owner!! Thanks!
Well in reality, RX-8 is something in which my wife adores but for me... its just a cool looking car tats it.
For me, i am a Lexus fan and i believe Lexus is really value for money. Meantime i am still discussing with my wife and also my colleagues on the possibility of getting the IS250!!!
Btw, maybe you can revert your fuel consumption sometime down to road to share???
Thanks!!!
new concept?Originally posted by angielika:Hi again..
Honestly, i only drive this car for less than a week. I dont drive everyday so i cant comment much on the consumption. As for a V6 engine, pls do not assume the consumption is low.. likewise for RX8 on a rotary engine. What did your wife comment on IS250? Why dont she like it? Well there are many who claimed that Lexus is not worth paying bcos its a jap car, for this price you can get a continental car easily. I can tell from your message that your wife like a sporty looking car. Well of course, a coupe/cab is gd for a 2nd car in the family OR without children. In long run, im very sure your wife will appreciate a sedan unless you have the intention to get a 2nd car. Whatever the decision is, your choice has to please both parties most imptly, get a more friendly car to your needs. My bf is driving a roaster.. but again, thats fine with us cos we both have cars. Ive driven a coupe for a short period of time, it looks nice and sporty but again, i realised i need a bigger car.
Go for a test drive with your wife, ask your wife to try it instead.
rebadged AND up-engined.. lexus is well-engineered n built, n i can assure u e difference is very clear between, lets say, lexus rx n e harrier, performance wise.Originally posted by trogen:All buyers of Lexus cars today will have to be prepared that there would be eventually parallel importers bringing in the toyotas and rebadged it as lexus for the road in singapore.
In another word, people will eventually will pay substantially lesser to own the "same" cars that looks like yours in the future.
In recent years , you probably had seen the following :
Toyota "Harrier" rebadged as Lexus " RX300".
Toyota "Altezza" rebadged as Lexus " lS200".(1998-2004).
do u want to pay a bomb for a car, which in reality share some many similiarities (both in parts and appearance) with Toyota ?
To me, Lexus is just a toyota with with all the luxuries fitting/ options. Nothing great. Same goes for GM->Saab, Ford-> Jaguar, chrysler-> Mercedes. Volkswagen-> Audi.

gs shares the same platform with mark x.. frm a far they do seemed to have the same silloutte...Originally posted by Seaplane:Hi Trogen,
FYI, the new range of Lexus car designs (GS & IS. New LS coming end of this year) are called L-finese. This means that the designs are only unique to Lexus. No more sharing of platforms/designs with Toyotas.

Hi guys.Originally posted by Seaplane:Hi DiablosX,
I went to the IS250 launch in Ritz. Think it's one of the prettiest car in its class. There's only 2 things that I don't really like in the new IS250. One, the dash. Two, the 16" rims (if you're looking at the standard variant). The back seats are tight but which car in this Junior Exec Class isn't? If you prefer a bigger rear legroom, I suggest you look at the BMW 3-series or Audi A4.
If you do decide to get the IS250, you can look for Irene (@Leng Kee, Lexus). Very nice and helpful lady. I got my GS300 from her through a friend's recommendation.
That's great news for those who are looking @the IS250 standard edition. All the more reason to get it now.Originally posted by Lexus SC:Hi guys.
All our IS250 will now come with the 17" rims. The 16" rims stock had been completely sold out and will never come again...
Cheers!![]()
About time! I had my changed 2 weeks after I got my car. Can't take it.Originally posted by Lexus SC:Hi guys.

Hee Irene is actually my mentor when I first joined Lexus. Yup she's been around for long and is very professional, nice and helpful. Do contact her or myself if you guys are considering a Lexus.

eh sg is also probably the only country where altis is offered 14 inch instead of 15.. BM really is cut cost king...Originally posted by Will1616:About time! I had my changed 2 weeks after I got my car. Can't take it.
Frankly, the 16" looks ridiculous on the IS.
I have check around it seems that Singapore is the only country that offers IS250 with 16"s, 17" is a standard and for premium models 18, a case of costs cutting?
Now that I know they are offering 17", hmmm... can't help feeling ripped off.
Ok la, at least I don't feel so bad.Originally posted by Lexus SC:Nope don't feel ripped off.
Cos the IS250 with 17" rims is priced at $3k more.![]()
