so what is an unordinary engine? NA = naturally aspirated = naturally = ordinary, no?Originally posted by stormy__turbo:i have 2 things to clarify, how does a NA engine different from ordinary ones?
to reduce turbo lags, sum cars like rx-7 type R uses twin turbos. other can compressing air twice as fast, as more wat else does it do?
pls clarify them, thanks
NA (Naturally Aspirated) is the engine you find in our everyday car. To put it very simply, it's like the heart. To keep it moving, it needs air so... it sucks in air to keep revving. No aid, no nothing to help feed air into... it takes what it needs.Originally posted by stormy__turbo:i have 2 things to clarify, how does a NA engine different from ordinary ones?

A huge turbo may be enough to generate massive power, but because its size, it requires a longer time to spool up to reach that certain speed where it starts to develop enough pressure to deliver boost. So instead of 1 big turbo, some replace it with 2 smaller ones, where first one will kick in at a lower rpm and the 2nd at a later stage of the rev band... to deliver that boost power much earlier and faster.
Alternatively to reduce turbo lag, keep the engine revving within the power band.![]()
is that the sound generated from changing gear?Originally posted by Xlvin:Well said.
To add on to that, a aftermarket Blow-Off Valve is a must to reduce maximum turbo lag. Pssssssss...!

yeah, it causes changing gear that psst...Originally posted by alwaysdisturbed:is that the sound generated from changing gear?
not true...Originally posted by ^tamago^:yeah, it causes changing gear that psst...
then wat causes the sound...?Originally posted by zerocool85:not true...
if im not wrong.. a BOV is to release extra air pressure that is generated by the turbo..
i maybe wrong.. experts please correct..
and yeah.. i heard a BOV can be harmful too.. if car is not tuned properly..
Let me explain, it's don't happen exactly during change gear. It's actually happens when u actually clutch in, release accelerator, then change gear. So the key point is the accelerator. When u throttle, the turbo kick in, charging lots of pressure of air into yr engine, mixing with los of fuel, causing huge combustion, causing yr RPM to raise fast, then when u need to lower yr speed during cornering or throttle off, the high pressure of air between the turbocharger and the engine have to be release to somewhere, so that somewhere is actually the Blow Off Valve, this reduces turbo lags, then that's when u hear the huge amount of air being forced out, causing the sound Psss....Originally posted by ^tamago^:then wat causes the sound...?

tt one put speaker also can ma..$250...Originally posted by alwaysdisturbed:is that the sound generated from changing gear?
haha, very detailed...thx a lot...though i'm still trying to understand parts...Originally posted by Xlvin:Hopes it satify yr curiosity. Cheerz
