Hi All !
Just wondering, how long will I need to take the theory before I'm allowed to take Practical? And is it practical to get a driving licence at 18? Thinking of getting a licence and buy a OPC to drive my family around during weekends and to outings. -

As long as you pass the basic theory test and the advanced theory test, you can start taking driving lessons. Give and take, about 3 months to get a license, but got to consider queueing for the practical test date too.

The theory tests are quite cheap (less than $20 I think), driving lessons probably $20-$30 per lesson. I will just cut down on gaming and save more. Currently, my side-line earns about $300 a month. Allowance is around $400. come on...taking a licence isnt expensive...plus in singapore,getting a licence also helps u to find job faster

cost of takin lessons.. my fren book alot at once n amounted to 1.6k including TP.. completed everythin in 1mth+ but waited abt 2plus mths for TP.. but he failed TP so nid to add in 300 to take revision n TP 2nd time.. another 2plus mth wait..
btw do u tink ur job can last u 10years? haf u consider that wat if u are jobless.. and i dun tink ur loan wil be approved at all.. you are stil young.. when u reach 18 den ask oso wun be late.. and there's no such thing as 21 den can learn driving.. can anyone stop that rumour?
abt 2 more mths to my 18th bdae..

btw.. must u be 18 then can take the license? what if you have license from other countries? is it possible to convert ? or must still wait till 18?

I'm going to convert mine soon, but I'm 20, so yea.. -
i turned 18 and had my driving lessons. more or less, i had them everyday.
after 2 and a half mths and $1.9k gone, i passed on 1st attempt.
den dad bought a car for my and his use.
currently, monthly is 530 and we expect petrol to cost 400 each month.
u wanna get a car under ur own name? insurance damn ex leh. -
