Hi guys, thinking of getting a second hand or first hand rx8. Some questions here about to ask.
Currently driving a corolla. Planning to get rid of it and get a new one. Still deciding on a RX8 or IS250. My first choice is RX.
Any new verison coming out lately?
If i do get a second hand one, about 2-3 years, any problem with the rotory engine? I know sure cost a hell to get it repaired.
Some say that with 55 litres can get about 460-490 millage. some say about 300++... both with normal driving style. So which one is true?
Hope someone will help me with these questions.

U should really be asking your questions in the RX-8 forum or IS200 forum. The RX8 is known to be a guzzler. 55 litres for 490 is definitely impossible. 300+ is the norm.
While the looks is good, I cant say much about the speed as I found it reasonably slow unless u purchase the Shinken version at GR. Still, bang for the buck in terms of modification is almost non existent as its relatively slow. The new Lexus 250 is a different class compared to the RX8. U have to ask yourself as to what u need.
This forum only discusses M3.
M3 reigns supreme and guy with foundation is an in thing

Not comparing the class. Both is ok with me as i am still young here. I like both the design and specs of the car. Was thinking of getting a second hand RX first cause i really like that design a lot, then as i be more mature, get a more "stable" car.
So, just asking around, any RX owner here with problems after their second or third year of driving?
Well, i am not that well off to get a M3 as yet in cash... Maybe years to come but not now cause i don't like to take loan and get tied down by them.
I think i am sorry for entering this forum as it only discuss only M3. Guys in the forum are rich... -
That time heard from the SE, saying that on the average 6-8 per liter....one ofthe worst FC i ever see. But the funny part is he says that even if drag or no drag, the FC still falls between 6km/liter.

is250 will set u back quite alot. plus its a more 'stable' car per se.
u can also try getting MRS (toyota again) or MX5 miata. -

Like what anti-ah siah has mentioned, 490 is impossible...never have i heard that Rx8 can hit 460~490 too...averaging 300+++++ is there for Rx8... -
hey if i were u,i will get the Rx8 if i can handle manual..or i will get the IS200..
the IS200 looks good when u modd it..n its handling is great!

Actually, FC is not an important factor to me as i have more than 1 car at home. Thinking of driving a RX out to chill at night or out sometimes only loh. So, thinking of maybe getting a second hand one.
I have trust in piston engine and because it is a rotory engine i would like to find out more about if problems arise after the second / third year of driving. -

Think it would be better to ask someone who owns Rx8 to offer u a better feedback on Rx8...
