"never raced or tracked before" is not a full proof way of determining whether u got urself a good buy anot. more often than not, its the ppl who track their cars who know better how to take care of their cars and engines. IMO, there are ppl who never track but drive off straight from the carpark early in the morning without warming up their cars. those hurt the engine even more.Originally posted by yeehaw:i was at sgcarmart.com and there were a couple of used cars that mentioned "never raced or brought to the track before." are there places in singapore to carry out legal races? when i was much younger i remember seeing tents and cars with lots of decals screeching their tires at Kallang carpark.
are there places in singapore or other places to watch amateur BUT professional racing? or tracks for civilians? i've never been to sepang though
please enlighten me.![]()
its not....Originally posted by yeehaw:lol. you make it sound like some secret hideout.
Actually driving straight off the carpark in the morning without warming up doesnt really hurt the engine. Nowadays the car dont need warming up especially in our tropical climate where temperature dont fluctuate below 0 degree. driving the car off is already letting the engine warm up, staying there stationary is wasting fuel.Originally posted by tailslide:"never raced or tracked before" is not a full proof way of determining whether u got urself a good buy anot. more often than not, its the ppl who track their cars who know better how to take care of their cars and engines. as for ur question, there is a new track coming up in tuas which is expected to be completed in the next few years. other than that, the closest track to sg is PG in JB and further towards KL, theres shah alam and sepang. carpark rallies/sprints are rare these days. go check out the smsa website for more details. auto tests are more common these days.
Apparently, not big enough for F1... but maybe for A1 only I think...Originally posted by tofushop193:aiya how big can the tuas track be sia

dats wad most ill informed ppl will tell u. unless u can convince me that engine oil can "magically" attach itself to every part of ur engine after being parked overnite, u are gonna have metal rubbing against metal when u drive off immediately after starting up. common sense will tell u wad happens when metal rub under load (driving).Originally posted by YiFengz:Actually driving straight off the carpark in the morning without warming up doesnt really hurt the engine. IMO, it makes perfect sense spending 5 cents idling my car for 40 secs every morning and enjoying a smoother engine than spending 2k overhauling my engine prematurely while suffering loss of power and fc due to poor sealing piston rings.
