My dad just installed 2 cameras in the car, cos the car was vandalised 1 mth ago.... the problem is now the cameras rely on the car's battery for them to work when the cameras are on and the car switched off.... I already need to jump start the car twice in 2 wks cos the power had been used up.... I started the car yesterday at 3pm and also drove around the neighbourhood for abt 15 mins, but today 6pm i tried to start the car and the car cannot start again.... I wan to prevent all the power from being used by the cameras so i do not need to jump start again..... Can i change to a battery with a bigger amp without changing anything except the battery?? wat amp can i change to, where can i do it and est. cost? Finally will changing to a higher amp battery solve my problem and will the car be affected in any way if i change to a higher amp battery??
What kind of cameras are you talking about? You should check the wiring of the cameras... i believe they are connected to the battery directly. That shouldn't be the case so i suggest you bring the car back to where it was installed and have them re-wire the cameras. Changing the battery to a higher CCA is alright but not really recommended if your car is still under warranty. Any issues with the car's electronics, they'll tell you that the car's new battery will void the warranty. I would recommend you to buy a battery charger and and do a weekly check on the battery to ensure long lasting life.
i think a higher amp battery will help. go over to a workshop to check it out. if i'm not wrong 75 bucks shd be enough. if u need contact for batteries just drop me a pm.
y dun u connect the cams 2 extra batts in the boot, like those cars wif v hiong ICE???
