Altis vs Mazda 3

Currently looking at Altis and MZ3. Altis more on family need but thai make, MZ 3 look sport, jan make but fc is bad. Bros and sis here please advice on the two car

One is made in japan, the other isn't.
But I don't think that is an issue here. If FC is a concern, then altis. -

1. acceleration good.

cons of a mazda 3 :
1. bad FC? (mine now at 10.7km/l)
so aft a long time contemplating, i booked a mazda 3 on 01/04/06 and collected the car on 17/06/06. now one month plus and i can say the family has no regrets at all! -
wat is the threadstarter priority when choosing between the 2 cars.. i have drove both cars b4 n if put FC aside, i will go for mazda 3 anyday!

heard from many "places" mazda 3 is kinda under powered cos it's volvo s40 based.

I will go for Altis, base on the feedback from their respective forum.
The look maybe the factor but after sometime reliability is still the key point.
I read more compliant coming from Mazda 3 than Altis even though I see more numbers of Altis on the road. It's a $50k thing, so think carefully. -

I am continental owner. Had an accident recently. Replacement car was altis. Interior is really cheap. Very very cheapo. I feel really shy driving it.
Its pick up very fast coz its too light. This means when u bang, u sure die since the metal is thin.
Mazda is known for its handling. Jap car but heavy so when u speed, u wun skid or lose control. As for the look, its really a lot nicer than altis. Altis is very uncle.
And VERY common on the road. Something I don't like.
Why don't u consider the new Honda Civic? Its quite nice. Fresh out of the oven. Very unique. And Honda is best jap car in its class, if u ask me. Very sleek looking. And if you drive a honda, people know you got better taste than to pick up an altis.
Going for test drive this weekend. *wink* Wait for my good news. Vtec engine. Auto. -
ya.. altis is good for its FC due to the body weight, its lighter... Mazda3 has a very nice interior and exterior .. compare to altis

How about Honda Air Wave, goog FC but is PI.

if really want good handling, definitely conti car excels. and the entry level conti cars pricing is on par (not cheaper) then the best of jap cars in the same class.
On the contrary, my view about honda is not tat positive.

safety of a car depends on the frame n how well it can absorb a shock, so tt the occupants don't bear the full force of the impact. anyway, there are 1001 other factors tt makes a car safer, n thin metal is definitely not in it... besides light is gd, cos it saves fuel... can u say tt titanium is weaker than steel because it's lighter???

i dun like altis cos it's thai made... it's nth against the thais, but i've heard of many QC probs... tt's y i still trust jap made, n factory fitted stuff...

If you intent to drive for 3 years then change car, then you can try Mz 3, most ppl still prefer Altis due to engine reliability cos it still from Jap. Can't have the best of both world but is base on yr need, if you like to mod then Mz3 is a good choice cos its bodykit is more chio and the mint blue is nice, But if you drive it like a sport car then prepare $$ for repair or add more stuff.
