If u noticed, there are a couple of Silvias in Han's Garage.
In my opinion, I think he gave Sean the Evo to drift with is because he wants Sean to LEARN the proper drifting Techniques!
In a FR Silvia, it's rather easy to drift with...
But in a 4WD Evo, it's much harder for beginers!

Therefore, Sean was able to drift well when he used the FR Mustang in the final showdown due to his trainings in the Evo!

Anyway, the Engine in the wrecked Silvia(later transfered to the Mustang's body ) is a Mustang's engine right?
Didn't know the Silvia's engine compartment can store a V8!

if u watched behind the scenes, they already said that they converted the evo to FR so that it can be used for drifting..
and yes, 4wd is easier to drift because u need to concentrate on less stuff.. -
