is it right to overtake?

im driving a slow-moving 3 tonner(military truck) on the road.
suddenly,the vehicle in front of me stops by the side of the road.
if...
1)this vehicle were a bus which has gone into the bus bay to allow passengers to alight and board,
2)this vehicle was a taxi to board passengers by the side of the road,
should i overtake or wait behind it?
pls help.. -
If bus then give way, if taxi then horn and overtake.

if its a 3 lane road - overtake if the road is clear. if its a two lane road or one lane road - pls dont. pls wait.

I know SAF is quite strict in enforcing traffic rules, and since you say you drive a 3 tonner, then it pays to wait for a while. Better wait behind, than to do a dangerous overtaking stunt. You might have just signed your way to DB!
But having said that, if the car stops completely, and driver has no intention of moving his car at all for prolonged periods, then it make sense to overtake! -

I always give way to bus and taxi wan... I also military driver... I always give way wan...
Muz let ppl see SAF dun always suka suka overtake wan mah... Bus and taxi juz let them alight or board the vech lor,no need to ruch mah. See the situational ahead.. Threadstarter still learning??? -

You drive 3 tonner, then wait lor, how fast you want to go also max out at 50km/h Makes no difference whether you overtake or not. Just about who gets to the traffic lights first.

theres no rite or wrong in overtaking in either of these scenarios. juz make sure the lane u are using to overtake is clear of traffic b4 u do so. -
