I would like to ask about owning a Jeep in Singapore..
1) How bad is its fuel consumption
2) Any places in Singapore or JB that u can use the Jeep to play serious offroading
3) Which category of car is it under (A, B, C, etc.. ) when applying for COE or roadtax..
4) Is it very spacious (Can put lots of stuffs or passengers in it )
5)Where is its showroom in SG located
6) Is its handling ok in urban conditons
7) Would u buy one or get a SUV insteaD?

The Jeep you're referring is the one by Chrysler? The showroom is at Leng Kee Road, behind the Hyundai showroom. Or if you're referring to those 4WD vehicles, which there are some pick-ups which also has off-roading capabilities. I think Ford and Isuzu have those 4WD pick-ups. Not forgetting Land Rover as well.
There should be some off-roading clubs out there that occasionally hold expeditions up north. Maybe just do some searching on the net.
Not sure what catagory jeeps fall under. There are some registered as private passenger car, while others as commerical vehicle with the "G" plate.
Generally it is never advisable to speed in a jeep. The tyres are not meant for high speed travelling and if you can recall some years back, Firestone had to recall their All Terrain tyre series because of reported tyre blowouts while travelling on the highway.
Fuel consumption is of course dependant on your driving style. If you buy a Jeep Wrangler with a V8 engine and always show off its grunty exhaust note at traffic lights... you get the idea.
If i were to get a SUV to go off-roading, i'll take the Toyota Fortuner. So bloody high, can clear almost anything. -

fortuner can get into 2.0m car parks...
but fortuner use drums leh... drums get affected by water, n when off rd, water sure get in 1 wat?
jimny n od vitara also use drums, but at least they r lighter...
anyone been off rd in a fortuner? care 2 share? -

hmm.. jeep ar? if u're referring to the jeep wrangler, it has a 4.0litre engine so fuel consumption is definitely high..as for off road vehicles to recommend, if u're bad at driving manual cars, its better to get those with automatic trans.. if u're on a tight budget, the suzuki jimny is a good choice, with a much lighter weight than
