i believe that for beating the red light, u get 12 points? but a fren of mine said that u get 6 points for beating it, another 6 if u were speeding while beating the red light? is this true?
Another thing is , Is it true that red light cameras capture the back of ur vehicle?
So a red light camera on the oncoming vehicle lane, is not meant to capture the vehicles on my lane? -

nope, i didnt beat the red light, when im in the middle of the yellow box at the junction, its still amber, But i dunno y, so paranoid about it, its just me,
btw, are the red light cameras the onli way to catch ppl who beat red lights?
meaning, everything ur caught beating a redlight, u would have witnessed the bright flash from the cameras? -

The rules clearly state that beating a red light is 12 points. Its stated also on the spf website.
I don't think the red light cams can measure speed.
Yes, our red light cams still send out a series of flashes. And they always take from behind only (its easier to catch a moving object from behind....and the flash doesn't blind the driver's eyes). Its very bright - you'll almost definitely notice it, even in bright daylight. Just saw one case two days ago, when this car cut a red light coming down from Sheares Bridge, towards Bugis Junction.
The sensor for the cam, I believe, is a set of triple lines on the road, just at the white line where the first car is supposed to stop. So if you're already past the white line, in the middle of the junction when the lights turned amber, you're definitely safe. Quite simply, technically, it means you didn't cut the red light lah. -
