Automatic Carwashes..

  u know those that u just drive in to the "entrance" and put gear to neutral brakes off the machine do the rest then finish u just drive out?
  
  all of them seem to have disappeared or closed down one by one.. I love them so much...! the only one that I know of that's still operating is the one at Shell Tampines Ave 2..
  
  Anyone know of any other place in SG with these machines? Do you all prefer automatic to manual wash? or manual to auto.. why?

  automatic ones have a higher chance of scratching your car's paintwork

  agreed... esp. with older cars with lousier paintwork.. i remember when my dad was driving the accord.. he kept complaining about it... and the accord then was available in 1.6litre.. so u can imagine how far back tt was

  tampines got 1. not sure which ave....pie changi airport exit tampines then turn right in 1st traffic light go straight. its on left hand side.

  I was near Hougang that day and there was this manual carwash at one of the petrol stations. The guys were washing one car and there was this long queue of over 10 cars behind.

  By the way can I ask... for those living in condominiums and HDB flats, how do you usually wash your car? More often at the petrol stations or do you wash them at the carpark with pails of water yourself?

  what coupon? anyway yea i know about the scratching thing but i've got tons of swirl n scratch marks on my dad's spacewagon already.. its not exactly a new or old car.. it's just abt 3 or 4 years old.. i dont wax or polish and have a small dent unrepaired..
  
  so.. yea.. I LOVE AUTOMATIC CARWASHES. n seriously none of my non-driving friends can tell the difference between my car when it was waxed n polished n stuff and now when its just being auto-washed every week.
  
  and anyway i think the one u're mentioning in tampines is the one i go to.. tampines ave 2 shell? or u mean a private one that i've not heard of..
  
  am i really the only one here who uses the auto carwash?
  
  btw i dont see my car getting any more scratches after the auto car wash than before it went into the auto car wash. in fact - i hate the finger and hand prints left by manual car washes as well as scratches that they manually cause. bad experience. =(

  hmm.. in other countries there are "touch free" automatic car washes.. where the machines never come into contact with the car.. if got this car wash in sg.. u all still prefer manual to this auto touch free one?
  
  apparently the touch free machines seem v successful v clean.. but sg dun haf sobs.

  Tayy... its not such a good idea to go auto car wash.
  Din you see how dirty their rollers are... and the bushy bsushy thing rubbing on your car surface can see more rings.
  
  The last part when they blow dry, if there are small particles like small stones or metal or screws..once the air blows it and hits your car body.. "ouch"
  
  Went to the Tampines Shell once. After once.. dun wanna go again. It make more rings on the car surface than normal. In the end always have to go regular waxing service. to cover it.
