driving to malaysia any advices?

Hi... my frenz and i will b driving up north to malaysia over the weekend
We are all first timers...hmm... juz wondering if there are any advices or things to bring along, prepare and to look out for? thanks.... -

Rent a lousy car and don't drive your own?

make sure the doors of ur cars remain locked at all times, especially during traffic jams.
if kena caught by their TP for speeding, dun panic. jus give them some kopi $$.
dun drive fanciful, big, luxury cars. keep a low-profile.
dun park ur cars in ulu places.
get a strong n reliable steering wheel lock.
note: despite all these precautions, there is still a considerable amount of risk tat u n ur frens may b taking a bus back.

Never get stopped by anyone on the road as you can be robbed. If anyone tries to stop your car, just drive on and never get out of your car! Your car bearing the Singapore licenxe plate is a prime target for many in Malaysia!!

msia is a nice place with friendly people la. a certain % of crimes is usual in all places. only lately there's some fierce fightings at esplanade cant say that's not a safe place right. so normal pre-cautions will do, like dont go dark and quiet places - unless you wanna go parks do something
get a steering wheel lock, and use it. msians use it, so we better do also.
park head in, and turn steering wheel all the way.
never ever leave the key in the car... even if u are out for a sec.
be more alert at night on NS there may be trailers parked.
if u wanna be mr bean, keep the steering wheel along

if u want to challenge the speedcam, go above 160.
cos above 160, the cam can't catch -

If you want to speed, please bring enough money to bribe the police such as to avoid the fine ticket.
If you go there to shop, please dress like an ordinary commoner, preferably like the malaysians. They'll charge you cheaper prices than you wearing something expensive on yourself.
If you want to smuggle chewing gums back to Singapore, make sure you or your gf wear a G2000 jacket on your way to the custom. Put all those gums in your pocket or your girlfriend's (if you have & if you're a guy) pocket. They'll check every bags, noobs and corners for them. You can't really smuggle a huge tin can but at least those gums can last you for 3 weeks back home. Tried many times and I always succeed. -

if you like to hog the first lane (right side)... pls don't.
when you see a vehicle behind u signalling right / hazard light, pls move to the left.
if u see some vehicles on the opposite direction flashing high beam, there might be police further up.
and finally, if a big bike come up behind u with the "move aside" signal, don't gei kiang and increase speed to 180-190, just move to the left lane. -
don't leave bags and items in your car when u park...
put in your car backside...
cos when thieves see something inside your car...they will start to "operate" on it... -
try not to drive SUVs(eg. RAV4)0 or MPVs..(eg.Toyota Wish) very hot on the car thieve's list .. read from the papers a few mths back..
