Fuel Consumption - Honda Jazz (A)

  Hi All,
  
  I just changed my car this year coz by Nissan Sunny was burning too much petrol.
  
  I drive about 50% on highway, 50% on road, and mostly through peak hours. With the Sunny, I was doing 10.3 km/L. With the Jazz, I get about 13.5 km/L.
  
  Any fellow Jazz owners care to share what's your fuel consumption?

  i drive a city which has the same dsi engine.
  i can go up till 550 before the 'fuel' signal lights up.
  when i top up petrol, usually can only pump in ard 35-38litres.
  hence 550/38 = 14.5km/litre.
  i spend most of the time on the expressways. not really a light-footer.
  maximim distance i ever went was ard 600km before the signal came up.
  my previous ride was a focus and i could only get best 10km/litre from it.

  i heard city is 13-14

  my opinion, is not good practice to top up the fuel when u see signal blinking.
  i think the fuel tank has some dirt or something at it lowest part for long time use.
  So if the engine consume the fuel that contain dirt, make the engine not smooth anymore.
  Correct me if my opnion is wrong

  u r not wrong...but u have to understand ur car.
  like i said previously, even with the 'fuel' signal blinking, i can only top up max 38litres of fuel, meaning the sensors come on when there' ard 10 litres of fuel left in the tank. thats ard 25% of the maximum capacity and thats quite alot.
  
  fuel economy reali depends on driving characteristics. drive fast, pay more..

  If there is dirt, it will still get sucked in regardless of the level in the fuel tank. Maybe less is sucked in.
