The Supercharger can be used to give the car an extra boost I guess...Originally posted by seow:Wont' that defeat the whole point of its high-revving nature?
u would rather it be sponsored by Proton?Originally posted by ditzy:I think its just so wrong to turbo a VTEC, its like the whole NASA space programme being sponsored by toyota.![]()
eh if im not wrong the b16a block is quite tough and i doubt nothing will go wrong if u turbo charge it but of course it'll shorten the lifespan of the engine.just like any other engines.Originally posted by tomsss:I think the engine block of the B16A isn't designed to coupe with the stress delivered by the turbo. Sounds plausible that S2000 engine is the only one cos it was designed to have the highest horsepower per litre in its class... but generally, Honda's turbo is the VTEC itself, so I would say I wouldn't want to add a turbo in unless i know how to set it real properly without blowing up the engine![]()
The BMW 3 series will be launching a turbocharged version soon. not NA all the way.Originally posted by AE86tofu:Honda is NA al; the way man...just like BMW is....FIing the car would be like destroying the characteristic of the car.....thats what i believe
It's not that simple. You need the intake and exhaust manifolds to be redesigned to be close enough (to fit the turbine and impellor) and to channel gases properly. Plus an extra pipelines from the oil gallery and to the sump to lubricate the turbocharger. In this weather you'll also need to fit an intercooler to make it more efficient. Don't forget to uprate the brakes.Originally posted by Disappointment:I thought any engine can b turbo charged......... Just make sure that the engine had to be low compression. Cheapest way is to insert gasket at the engine head block. Add a intercooler and piping that should be abe to do it. But i'm nt sure if it will mess up the ECU, since the fuel/air ratio is different in TC.
heat shield?Originally posted by tomsss:Talk is easy, when it comes to actually doing it is another thing
Anyway the cooling system would need to be redone as well.... as much as replacing the radiator too.... and i think in my opinion... the civic's radiator is a tad too close to the engine, or rather the exhaust manifold
U referring to those SMSA racing Civics ar?Originally posted by zzt231:alot of people here really dun no abt anything, just type & type zzzz
vtec turbo is king!!!!!
got a few b16 with 400++ hp running around in spore loh.so light car + tc, a rex or evo with 500hp will get smoke till kana lung cancer!
don't forget to deal with the internals of the engine too, like the rods, and crank and pistons... and not to mention the fuel injection side of things which will be different, you will need bigger injectors if your current ones don't provide enough fuel... etc...Originally posted by Kuali Baba:It's not that simple. what if you like your current car, but want more power? or you want to do something unique?Originally posted by tomsss:i just think that.... if you want more power from your current NA car, got buy a turbo car instead
