Weekend Cars - so how do they work?

  Just curious leh.. I heard of this $20 supplementary licence but dont know what its for.. then I heard got coupon if you wanna drive outside of nonpeak hours... but how much is the coupon etc?
  
  Can someone give idiot's guide to weekend car for me har?

  Monday - Friday 7am to 7pm can't drive, unless buy the $20 coupon.
  
  Saturday - 7am to 3pm can't drive, unless buy the $20 coupon.
  
  Sunday - whole day free usage.
  
  Public holidays - whole day free usage.
  
  Eve of major public holidays - - 7am to 3pm can't drive, unless buy the $20 coupon.
  
  Coupon - buy from Singpost. $20/coupon.

  It's no longer called Weekend Cars.
  They are now Off-peak cars, or just OPC. If weekend cars, WC, not that nice la.

  i checked a few website liao.. but dont hv this info.... so the $20 is per day issit?

  There have been cases where the coupon were tampered with and reused but the owners got caught.
  
  And the TP has outsourced so many traffic wardens on the roads during peak hours, if they don't catch you, you can strike 4d twice a week.

  wardens even book pedestrians... I should have slowed down to take a pic but I think I will be part of the party to be caught so I ran as fast as I could... Otherwise I also kena book for jay walking....

  It's called Off-Peak Car to differentiate itself from their earlier Weekend Scheme car.
  
  Because when they first introduced Weekend scheme, their basis of calculation have a major flaw. Turn out if you are rich and want to buy a 2nd luxurious car, you can register it as weekend car and still buy $20/day coupons everyday and still end up cheaper.
  
  They discovered this flaw and corrected it to Off-Peak car. so the basis of calculation do take into account pricey cars.

  thinking of getting 1 since i only use it to and fro from work
  but 7am leh. Make no difference if i take public tpt
  
  unless i reach office at 7 and sleep in the car till 8.30

  Got one opc kia picanto park at my office there, always there before 7, leave for home only after evening peak. I find it quite pathetic. Have a car, but 70% of the time its left parking at your office.

  OPC is perfect for ppl who work in JB lor.
  
  Drive into JB before 7am.. then in JB no body gives a damn about what the colour of your plate is.
