Brunei knows that their oil will soon be dried up. But just like Singapore, they rely on trade, international investments, domestic production etc etc...
Having stayed there for just a humble 3 years, Im amazed to see the fast progress of the Bruneians. Almost everyone i encountered are able to speak english. Yes, tourism is lag in Brunei, but all that is changing in the near future.
No offence but what attractions do they have? Go sight seeing all the mosques( although they got quite a few very beautifull and grand ones) or visit the free admission amusement park which the sultan built and mantain for free?
There's pratically nothing to do there. Even if want to drink, also must hide inside hotel drink... if not kenna summon outside.. its crap. After 6pm, no night life entertainment outside except for the illegal ones hidden away.
Sometimes I wonder... y he buy so many cars?? If buya car for display and no running of it, I find it pointless... its making the cars rotting away. The cars are crying.. crying because its owner is not fully utilizing its potential.
As for how long the oil will stay... rumours has it that it will last another 30 yrs or so... I pity the next generation citizens of brunei.
As for why they can speak good english.. simple.. the governtment is providing free educations for all till secondary lvl. Free breakfast included. How I wish singapore can do that.
