Buying from PI

Guys, my dad was thinking of buying a new car from the San Hup Bee Trading. Anyone knows what to look out for when buying from PI, and anyone had any bad experience from that PI ? Thnx alot ^^

There is enough trouble dealing with authorised dealers and their after sales staff, you want to get the headache of dealing with PI?
Firstly, there is ZERO after sales service. The warranty is only as good as long as they answer your call. And after a little while, they don't answer. PI's have the cards stacked against them. They have to get the cars from other dealers in Japan, i.e. register, deregister, register again in Singapore. So for the same car, the OMV is much higher hence dealer total cost price.
To compete, they have to keep prices low. So they under declare the cars, and play around with the loan numbers.
My recommendation is that we don't need the extra headaches, so go with the authorised dealers. Enough cars to choose from, and the are currently killing each other with lower prices anyway, since nobody is buying cars.
Did you know that about 50% of the cars in Singapore are under 2 years old?

The things to look out for is authorised dealer. When u see a PI, pls steer away.

My advise is you must really understand the car market first before you go PI.
I already posted some tips on another similar thread about 2 weeks ago.. go check that out.
Do you know that PI simply imports a car that you actually can do yourself?
only hassle is that you need to do all the paper work. -
I know majority of the PI are sucks.
Talk as if we are an idiot.
After month of scouting finally settled with this PI.
I don't say they are impressive in their package
but their service and frankness makes them sound
sincere in dealing.
They even bother to call to remind me to send the car for servicing once I've clock 1000klick.
These are the little little things that touch a consumer feeling.
It makes us feel good and secure. -

PI importers,if they go broke,wont be able to provide parts for you in the case of a recall due to a problem.

Well. even if they are reliable it just takes them to overorder 3-5 cars for them to go insolvent.

My only big worry is what if there's a defect, or many defects, who's going to rectify it.

2 of my friend got so pissed off with the SE.
one of the reason given for late delivery was....
"LTA close for renovation so we are not able to register e car on time"
My other friend full loan was not approved only 49K was approved.
They took 6weeks to return the $300 deposit. Kick here kick there
call also never pick up.....head office say branch....branch say head office
....sigh...
Then went to "CT" this malay SE promise wonder....
Same thing...only 49K was approved but this guy even worst
not only he don't bother to call and inform...he even refuse to answer the call.
Service level totally zero!
