Question regarding using handphone while driving

If u are caught driving while using your handphone. The policeman confisisted your phone. Is there any chances that u may get back your phone after you pay the fine or after the cases is settle? or the phone will be confisisted by them and will not return to you?
What is the punishment for driving while using handphone?
Anybody encounter this cases before? Will they return you the phone after the cases is closed? The phone is quite important. It a Verta phone which was bought for $5000 bucks...

Well. the law is the handphone is confiscated on the spot.
To claim back. you pay $200 fine on TOP of the fine imposed driving with handphone.
Which is i dunno what but i konw its 12 demerit... or is it 24 demerit now? -
And tell your "friend" don't think Vertu phone can drive using handphone.
It is the fact the glare of that vertu phone that caught the attention of the cops. -
Oh so in the end. the phone can be claim back? It does not matter what phone he is using. he always use handphone while driving. Guess this will teach him a lesson. need go to court 1st. the $5k is the last thing one need to worry about.

ask ur fren to call the investigation officer for the case and arrange a meeting w him. ur fren got any driving reords eg speeding, beat red light before? if dun have, juz pay $200 to compound the offence and 12 points gone and u can claim back the phone.
i personally kena this case before. and i tell u, the room they keep the phone, power la, at least 4 cupboard full of phone sia. and many other things inside.. -

I've heard from my friend which is a lawyer that now you have to attend court to hear your 'sentence' and pay the fine there then takes at least 2-3 weeks to claim back the phone from the police station ... and also it depends on your track record whether they decide to keep the phone perm (I think, and we thought. but no confirm)
On the other hand you can ask your friend to consider buying mine ...

Simple you will get your phone back butif you find that the TP has intruded into your privacy by running through the phone etc....For me I will simply sue that Police until he bankrupt...I got money to play with this people....hehehe

I don't see any valid reasons for the Police to keep your handphone after you have paid your fine and gotten your demerit points...
And why are you so anxious to get your handphone back? Are you sure it is your friend's? Or is it yours? Just a normal phone but with lots of photos and videos that you dont want the police to see?

Since already been caught for the case.
