Ways to Save Petrol for Cars

A new car owner here
Suggest some ways to help me save petrol...
So far the tips I have collected (through reading from the internet, from frens, etc) are:
1. Avoid fast driving in low gears
2. Don't drive too slow, anything below 50 will consume a lot more oil (true or not?)
3. Don't brake too often
4. Avoid traffic jam if possible, don't go back until after peak hours
Anymore?

Don't turn on the aircon, don't wind down the windows. Keep ur tacho under 2000rpms all the time.
Remove all dead weight as possible, spare tyre in trunk etc. -

Keep to expressways if possible.
Check your tyre pressure periodically. Inflate it to he manufacturer's recommended pressure.
Change up gear when RPM hits 2000.
Plan ahead. e.g. do not speed up, then to slow down drastically at traffic lights.
Remove things you do not need regularly from the boot/car. -

spare tyre is for emergency wor... if tyre pancek can replace on the spot... unless you want spend money towing it to workshop, then replace...

You're in Malaysia right? I think spare tyre is very important then.

Keep fuel tank at half tank or less, any unused fuel is always dead weight. Carbon fibre everything. You save weight, improve handling, and add rigidity to the car's chassis at the same time. Expensive to implement, but ROI is worth every cent in petrol save. If you're lucky, you break even in 5 years.

Most continental cars got a board computer that will show the instantaneous fuel consumption. it really helps.
anyone can imagine a conti 1.6 can achieve 14km/L??
1. avoid fast driving at all... most cars are tuned to 80-90km/h. any slower or faster is not in optimum state.
2. true, but pls observe speed limit.
3. Brake when needed dont go run tat chicken down.
the idea is... if u see or anticipate red light, act accordingly with minimum braking needed.

i oso dun like to be in a traffic jam, but then i oso dun like to sit in my office until after the peak hours...tink have to find alternative route ba -

Perodua uses daihatsu engine. Heard dat Kelisa is very fuel efficient. Shld be the same for Kancil. As above mentioned tips.. u may also refer to here for more details.
