  There are many poor people in the world and they prefer to wait for a cheaper mode of transport. Singapore's transport may not be the best, but it's certainly not the worst. At least the MRT and most buses are air-conditioned. Waiting time may be long, but at least the trains and buses still comes in the end. The MRT/bus may be crowded, but at least it gets us to our destination in one piece.
  
  And I don't see anything wrong with the idea of carpooling. Many cities practice that, and some cities have special lanes for carpool vehicles. (E.g. In Seattle, cars with 4 ppl and above, and public buses can use "special lanes" on the expressways during peak hour.) Carpooling is a good way to reduce traffic jams. Imagine the amount of space saved when 10 drivers share 3 cars instead of 10 drivers driving 10 cars. But unfortunately the idea is not very popular in Singapore.

  i take it as u are not one of those that complain abt the increase in transport fee despite not much improvment in the services and waiting time hor ?

  That's because i'm using a student concession pass... Hence I'm not affected by the price hike (yet)... LOL
