  i heard that if you put auto cars to netural gear to allow the car to roll freely will spoil the gearbox.

  this is wat i often do.. haha.. but don't do often,cos will spoil gearbox after some time.

  Setting the auto gear to Neutral while on the move doesnt really spoil it so much... the worse part is engaging the Drive gear after letting the car roll in the Neutral gear....
  
  My friend always does that when he's driving down a long slope... he will suddenly change the gear to neutral and let his car roll down the slope... then when it starts to get slow, he will shift the gear back to Drive.... He says he wants to save petrol.... gosh....
  
  Those of you who like the idea of using free gear (neutral gear), please go get a manual car instead...

  Hi, It is cheaper to replace brake pads than gearbox. Thus dont shift to neutral when stop at traffic lights or going down slope.

  I was travelling at 80km/h and you know what, the shift to neutral gear accidentally makes my brake not working...
  
  I have to swing the car to the left lane to avoid a serious accident..
  
  Better dun try..

  it doesnt spoil your gearbox... i practice that on my car for 3 yrs still no prob. even ask the mechanic to check the gearbox during servicing. the trick is not to rev immediately after u switch to drive. wait still the idling goes up a bit den u step the accelerator a bit.

  advisable to switch to neutral. safety reasons. sometimes if u stop to close behind a vehicle and forgot to apply handbrake, u accidentally release the footbrake the rolling will do damage to front vehicle mayb scratch or small dents.

  haha there's no reason for an auto car to apply handbrake at traffic lights

  applying handbrake is up the drivers preference. for me, its like an extra precaution. because i dun want to end up paying extra for minor accidents.
