Tips on driving economically

1)Unload or unncessary loads(since more loads require more power to move it around)
2)Accelerate slowly...
3)Try not to exceed 2500rpm for a 1.6 car
4)Those above 2.5L try not to exceed 3000rpm...
5)Inflate you tire to the right pressure(it is alright to inflate slightly higher than reccomended...)
6)Try not to drive above 90KPH as the drag increases dramatically as you go faster...
7)Only on the aircon when necessary...
8 )Winding down the window causes drag too...
Thats about all I can think about now...

Try to drive at constant speed. Constant braking uses up lots of fuel that's why it's not very economical driving in the city area where the traffic is usually congested.
You may also find long distance driving is more economical than short distance driving too.

Most pple hv the wrong concept about turning off the air con. There are many components to the air con.
1)the blower (the one that is blowing out the cool air)
2)the compressor (the one that is producing the cool air)
the compressor can be controlled by the A/C button on all cars. hence instead of turning up the temperature when the interior is too cold, you could just turn off the compressor (which is the component that uses the MOST electricity and hence increases fuel consumption)
You could even do so at traffic lights!
Dont worry, you wont suffocate inside as long as you turn it back on!
**by not using the compressor, you are saving up to 10% of your fuel consumption.
We could also save the environment by NOT leaving the engine RUNNING while you wait for pple!!!
Let us all pls do our part to save the environment!

braking constantly = use a lot of fuel? braking does not use fuel.. its the acceleration afterwards that uses the fuel right?

my tips:
1. lighten ur load.
2. on aircon if u need it.
3. try not to rev till 3k rpm.(possible in auto car to rev up to 2k rpm cos i always do dat).
4. Use highway or expressway.
5. avoid jams or roads infested wif traffic lights.
6. plan ur route.(usually taking a longer route to siam traffic light does save petrol)
7. wind down windows halfway.
8. travel at abt 80-90km/h.
dats wat i do on my auto pica... can achieve 14-15km per litre.. stock except sport rims... -
All above suggestions are good ones ...
Suggestions:
1. Avoid traffic jams, roadworks, schools, etc with SatNav/GPS and TMC. Program economical routes into SatNav.
2. Plan your routes before you set off.
3. Go lightweight - remove door panels, carpets, roof panels, fill 10% of window washer
4. go manual transmission
5. go diesel
6. go hybrid - Toyota Prius
7. know where speed cameras are, slow down and speed up correctly, use Road Angel 2. -

the budget cars normally are more fuel-saving...
i drive an 8 year mazda 323, only 10km/litre
