I have just bought a bottle of car wax. (Turtle Wax to be exact). So what are the steps to get going to make my first car waxing a success? What sorts of materials are needed to wax, clean etc. Thanks in advance for any help inputs.

first wash the car thoroughly.
This is to wash off the miniscule dust/dirt that will make micro scratches as you wax the car.
then Dry the car thoroughly. this is so that wax will not mix with water and lessens the effectiveness of wax.
Wax the car panel by panel (if you using hand).
Abide this guidelines... use soft cloth. Soft cloth shouldn't be "dusty", cloth MUST NOT drop onto the floor/ground this is trap dirt/sand into the cloth which in turn create scratches.
how to use the wax, read instructions on bottle.
Also, i dunno why you use Turtle Wax... there are better ones around for not much more.

wax wont last long in our weather condition... use sealant instead... the shine of the car doesnt come from the wax...its from your detailer.. how good he polishes the car to a brilliant shine...
