  anyone here still own a privately registered vehicle such as pickups or vans?
  
  cos' i m one of the sucker who does and suffered financially as the result. anyone here wants share their views about this?

  I still owe one Citroen Berlingo and now my brother is driving it, din loss much and after coming to 6 years it's still very good. And of course without company label one.

  when it was opened to private, the COE was way up there - ard 23K or so - now it is dirt cheap and i am stuck with the stupid loan (2 more yrs to go) and can't sell becos of the cheap new pickup prices.

  my Caddy... ya still got 1 more year left... but its already starting to fall apart already... now just focusing on essential repairs and perform basic maintainence regularly... want to have it last 4 more years i still find great use for the van.

  Nope. It used to be, somewhere around year 2001-2002, I think but the government stopped this private buying around april/may 2002.
  
  my current job needs a car not a pick-up and i can't get the company to reimburse as my transport is a pickup...
  
  those who are using vans are still alright - at least it is covered which have many good everyday usage and I don't the risk of getting my monitor wet when it rains! - to many, having a pick up is an outcast. most likely to kena security check if go to certain buildings in CBD area... do i look like a terrorist?

  there are mods where to can just add cargo bay shelter to convert into a van... sort of. at least can give shelther to your monitors and give your truck a more 'sleek' look

  wad's the cost of owning one? is it more ex. as compared to an ordinary car? are diesel-powered ones subjected to diesel taxes?

  Better to get a car now, 5yrs ago a normal car cost about $80k and a van cost $48k.
  
  Van must keep to lane 3 in expressway, cannot go JB cos must have permit.
  No speeding, cannot carry passenger behind-only for worker and if caught must produce proof showing that they are workers from your company and in office hour only, company registered and got the SWD-beep beep beep.
