Should I use Neutral while waiting at Traffic Light?

  Hi,
  
  I drive an automatic car. I was wondering is it bad for the car if I just step on the brake and leave the car in drive mode while waiting for the red light at the traffic light?
  
  Is such a driving habit bad for the car? Or should I change to neutral gear?
  
  Can advise?

  It fcuking defeats the purpose of an automatic car if you need to keep touching your stick everytime you stop at the traffic lights.

  Not need to change to "N"..
  Just step on the break...
  Gear will last longer..

  up to you..depend u want it or don want..it will not damage anything if u put it to d and brake...its not bad...putting to neutral also can...that is one of the reason there is a neutral in the gearbox...

  if you know the wait is going to be long, switch to neutral. so you can rest your legs.

  yup. or maybe like me, when you step on the accelerator frm jln bahar all the way to tampines. even a 5 sec rest is satisfying.

  when i was driving auto, i always put to neutral while waiting at traffic lights or other situations where the wait is quite a while. and handbrake is on.
