Should I use Neutral while waiting at Traffic Light?

when it is in neutral .. your feet will be resting on the floor? I mean with handbrakes up of course .. -

for auto... just leg will do. the other can shake shake shake or whatever.
cos normally auto car... from D to N you dun need to press the catch button mah, can accidentally shift to that position unknowingly. and i normally have my foot on the brakes even when on N sometimes, just in case -
i step on the brakes and leave it in D when the stop is only for a while.. If its long, i will still leave it in D, but i will engage the handbrake...

Well, this has been a topic of argument with my dad.
My dad was a Manual driver, so for him the argument for auto cars is that he has to go neutral.
For me, i explained to him that Auto trans car are build in such a way that it can be in D when stop.
In Manual, you neutral so that you need not clutch. Other you can be in gear but have to clutch and brake. Tiring.
In auto, just brake will do since the auto trans fluid will "clutch" the engine, therefore it will not stall.
Another argument is that, you frequently, N to D, D to N, it just wears off the transmission.
where as brake at D, you just use up trans fluid. -
for auto cars, i only touch the stick when i start the journey and when parking the car.

LOLx ... nt recommended ... it wear out gearbox quickly lar ...
unless ur super low on fuel and desperate to find a specific petrol kiosk lor ...
other than tht step on brakes will do =D cheers
