  I didn't really have much comments about Chinese cars. When Chery and Geely came I just thought they're just another cheap brand entering the market. We survived with Proton and Perodua, so we'll do with them.
  
  But I was wrong.
  
  The crash test results of Chery and Geely are dubious. It's amazing why LTA allow such cars to enter the market. Singapore roads can really be endangered by their presence... BG Yam Ah Mee (CEO of LTA), what are you doing?
  
  As Hari Raya Haji approached (oops... or was it the new year?) I've noticed an increasing number of red-plate Chinese cars on the roads. That really leave me worried about road safety in Singapore.
  
  Chery should be okay since their plans are copied from GM...
  
  So is Geely. They've been on the Chinese roads for years now...
  
  But LIFAN? After vising the motorshow I can safely conclude the 520 is the biggest piece of junk I've ever seen in motoring history.
  
  LIFAN 520 is made of super glue. Door handles, aircon vents, dashboard... everywhere you see superglue traces.
  
  If it comes to Singapore, the roads will really be in danger.
  
  Say no to LIFAN.

  hmm. personally didn't see or experience lifan before but looking at the pics they sure strike a good first impression. side ind., decent design, leg room, and a large lcd screen. don't tell me they had gps on it as well.

  nothing we say or post here will stop them.. the onli way is if 4 million other people think the same way - and refuse to buy..
  
  however.. as u can see.. the other 4million souls on this island say otherwise.. sales are going up for chery and MIC cars.. none of u can stop them now.. the other 4million have spoken..
  
  anyway next year is what year? 2007 or 2008.. u posted on 31 dec.. so confusing..

  The joke is that LTA allow chinese cars with crappy safety standards. I really cannot understand why Singapore acceptance standard is so low nowadays.
  Its the beginning of the downfall.
  
  But when your BMW wants to change to bigger tyres or exhaust pipe, LTA will say that its illegal as it cause the car to be unsafe for the road.
  Woah....I would say a illegally modded BMW is still 10times more safe compared to the current range of chinese cars.
  
  Well......the root of all evil is MONEY. People will buy cheap no matters what.

  Oh, Please... Wait until you feel the car and the materials tt they use... the one on disp at the spore motorshow feels v flimsy... sometimes it's really not just the level of equipment...

  When i first look at the pictures, yes the interior look like very spacious to me also, but when i take a closer look at it again, the pictures is quite deceiving and misleading pple.
  
  First, lets take a look at the front(driver) seats picture, u can see that the seat is actually shifted back and adjusted to the extreme. (u can take the front doors as the reference)
  
  Then take a look at the rear(passengers) seats picture, now they straighten the back rest of the front seat and shifted the front forward. (look at the distance between the front seats and the door again)
  
  See the difference?
  
  Best way to determine the leg room for rear passengers is to go to the actual car and get into the driver seat and adjust to ur comfortable position then move back to the rear and try sit on it.
