Solar Film / Window Tint

hi i'm new to these things, solar films or window tints. dad's interested so am helping him look out for lobangs.
any recommendable lobangs/contacts/experiences/brands to share? ride is a 2L sedan. roughly what'll be the price range? have come across +/-$200 quotations.

try asking tint-master.. i did mine for $80 (excluding windscreen) there too.. they had a special promotion going on then, but i dont know if it is still valid now.. but mine is a small 1.5L car..

wow seems like you've got a good deal. cheapest package there, Tint Basic, is $280. just minus the windscreen and you got it for $80. how's the worksmanship? -

eventually found a lobang at another forum and went ahead with it.
Unique 1995 at Automobile Megamart. i think they use 2 brands of films. our car went for the Johnson Films Greystone Series which, according to the boss, though may not be very much heard of over here, is actually a reknowned brand over at the states. how true or not of course i don't know haha.
apparently usual price is $400, but we got it done for less than half of this. sounds like a gimmick but when we heard of the story behind, well it wasn't quite totally unbelievable after all.
well price is indeed a plus point, but whether the quality lives up to the u.p. of $400, only time will tell as it was only done yesterday. according to the feedback from the forummers who patronised this, it's indeed bang-for-buck.
one thing that i can surely give a thumbs-up is the service. the boss was humble and patient in serving us, and the workmen seemed professional enough, although their usage of penknife on the window glass was a bit worrying haha. guess they knew what they were doing. -

They have to use penknife to cut out the shape.. looks like there is no other way except penknife.. -
03 camry, but it's my dad's ride not mine. i call it my ride only if i earn it myself haha.
ya i guess they're experienced to know that there's some degree of scratch-proof for the window glass. i believe this is fine as long as they keep the knives off the paintwork lol.
anyway we decided to do the 25% visible light transmission all round, except the windscreen at 70%. LTA compliance is 70% front / 25% rear. my old man complained it's not as nice to be 2-tone lol.
maybe for the next inspection, go back and spend $80 to redo the 'failed' front door windows, or hopefully govt lax up regulations by then lol. -
Just wondering, what's the difference between privacy glass ( those tt pi cars hv) and window film? cos both can be equally dark right? any benefits of a privacy glass compared to window flim? my dad's ride put on cool n lite's darkest film but still can c thru slightly..
