Engine got Problem. Need Advice.

  Hi hi.. I'm now driving a Civic, abt 10yrs old. Recently got this prob. When my Vtec got activated on the 2nd gear, then change to the 3rd gear, then put back to neutral, the engine seems like going to die off like that... Like somewhere in the engine got stuck, RPM keep hanging between 0 - 2 - 0 - 2 a few times then back to normal. Need some technical advice on this. Can anybody here help? Thanks.

  I think you better bring your car to a workshop... Even if someone here knows what is happening to your engine, you can't possibly repair it yourself too right?

  Is there any recommendation on workshops as its my first time having car prob. Any cheap but reliable ones?

  Check Vtec Solenoid.

  if got idle valve go check it out...take out and wash....if not maybe like wad he says...vtec solenoid

  is the air-con on?

  It is out of close loop control.

  Aircon is off.
  
  Anyway, this car parf date will be due on this year june. I just want to make sure this car dun die halfway on the road. Thats y asking for advice. I'll go check on the valve and the solenoid. Thanks alot pal.
