My Lancer is 1.5 yr year-old. Is it true that if I serviced it outside of C&C, and if something goes wrong with the car, my warranty is void?
I just did my normal 40k svc with C&C, and it cost me $800+. I'm sure this is much more expensive than the independent svc shops around. But I'm afraid the outside servicing would be used against me if I need C&C to honour the warranty.
Please advise. Thanks..

Yes. Most Aurthorised Dealers are pretty strict about this. If is just oil change and filter change done outside, just keep quiet, they dunno one.

The advantage of getting your car serviced at ADs is that you can be sure that you car is serviced properly, anything wrong that happens after your service there you can go back to have it sorted out, usually for free. Outside workshops, if something goes wrong, they'll likely to tell that you never change this and that and they'll slowly start charging more and more as you replace more items from them. Not all workshops are like that lah, you just have to be careful of them. When it comes to diagnosing electrical problems, it's best to go to ADs.
