In the meantime drive carefully, and be observant.
Tailgaters quite easy to deal with laOriginally posted by SpecOps87:Okayz, thanks. Because quite frankly I'm quite sick and tired of being tailed endlessly by Taxis and the occasional speed freak whom weaves in and out of lanes damn close to where I'm driving.
Oh this is very common scene on Singapore roads... Just get used to it... i think it happens even more to P-plate drivers... some people tend to hate p-plate cars....Originally posted by SpecOps87:Okayz, thanks. Actually the lane on the right is Lane 1Originally posted by drumstick:As long as you not in the fastes lane on the expressway, you can travel at 70km/h on a van. but normally 60-70 will travel at lane 1.
They tailgate u?? so ez... from 5 gear, drop to 2nd gear and use fast engine brake. Then get ready for impact. And there you have it... a brand new rear bumper.
On small roads should be ok.
But on expressway, try to know the speed on each lane.
Lane 1: 70 and below
Lane 2: 70-80
Lane 3: 90 and above.
But van normally can go to 80 wat...
Take off the p plates and see the difference.Originally posted by SpecOps87:Okayz, thanks. Because quite frankly I'm quite sick and tired of being tailed endlessly by Taxis and the occasional speed freak whom weaves in and out of lanes damn close to where I'm driving.

Bro. No need to go DDC. Waste of Money.Originally posted by SpecOps87:Hi all,
Just got my license slightly over 2wks back. Am curious to find out if there's any place offering defensive driving courses and what are the prices like? I read in some magazine quite sometime back that BMW offers such a course. Any other places offer them?
Thanks

So you mean even for van, I can drive on Lane 1?Originally posted by mancha:Ai yo!
You got it all wrong.
Lane 1 is the extreme right lane, it is the overtaking lane.
Lane 2 is usually the centre lane,
Lane 3 is the extreme left lane, for slow vehicles, and for expressway exit.
Speed limit on our express way (for all lanes) is currently 90 kmph, go over this limit, or the posted limit, at your own risk of a speeding ticket.
No such thing as Lane 3 is for 70 kmph and below. General rule is keep left, overtake on the right. Therefore slower vehicles, out of courtesy should keep on the extreme left lane. Same for goods vehicles and trucks, and motorcycles.
Do not think that you are driving at this speed, therefore you should be in this lane. Thats wrong.
Drive within the limits of your ability, taking into the consideration the road condition and traffic situation.
You can, but if there's a vehicle coming up behind you fast, I recommend you change to the next lane, or he might horn and flash at you.Originally posted by SpecOps87:So you mean even for van, I can drive on Lane 1?
